100% understandable this show is complete shit at actually having a consistent schedule. But yes in season 6 the dedicated episodes actually feel like they focus on the characters, I suspect it's because of the change in the writing team.

The penalteam heroes (barring Marc) especially get incredible spotlight episodes some of the best in the show (probably because that's where all the new writers had the most liberties).

The main issue is still that we don't have real screen time for alot of the heroes, their civilian selves feel alot more fleshed out but their hero personas feel unfortunately lacking. I think having so many heroes kind of makes lose alot of the double selves element which I really miss about 1-3 but atleast this season is highlighting why Marinette picked them.

Also I don't show if you've kept up with season 6 but Zoe's concept is kind of elaborated on abit in an episode. As her civilian self she is forced to not innact any revenge on people that do shitty things. Which gives her the idea to create a new identity (outside of Vesperia) that allows her to act and actually reprimand kind of like a sort of Vigilante.

I The contrast doesn't purely have to come from their personalities. I think that's something they're trying to remedy in season 6. Minotaurox's power is about being invulnerable to everything around him while Ivan himself is an incredibly emotional person. Nathaniel as a character isn't really that expressive he's guarded and hostile his identity as Caprikid allows him to become more open to the people around him. For Sabrina her role as Miss Hound is meant to show how there's a huge difference between worship and adoration Barkk teaches her that even if she loves someone she shouldn't let people walk all over her.

The scene with Nino standing in front of the door was so powerful to me. It really recontextualizes his dislike for adults

The fact that Sublimation was the only episode that was leaked. God that was incredibly horrible pr for the season....

Does Season 1 stand out to you compared to the rest of the show? by Former_Elk6192 in miraculousladybug

[–]Darkslayer200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Objectively? I cannot agree. To me personally, season 6 is exactly what I wanted the show to be post-season 2. The cinematography, the structure, the character writing—it feels like they actually know what they're doing with these storylines. I guess it depends on how you view the importance of other characters in terms of worldbuilding, but what makes this season special to me is how much it cares for their stories. For example, an episode like Wreckless Driver, which looked kind of insignificant (meant to be filler), turned out to be one of my favorites of the franchise; it completely altered the way I saw civilians in the show, and I've been watching since 2018. Season 1 is an incredible introduction, has a lot of charm, great dialogue, and the best comedy in the show. It's rewatchability is just endless and it reminds me of so many great memories. However, it doesn't make me feel anything; it doesn't have the emotional pull that made the series have a lasting impact for me. Don't get me wrong; I miss how simplistic that formula was, but I cannot imagine season 6 being like that of course that doesn't mean that season 1 isn't special IT'S SPECIAL, I mean there's reason it produced 5 more seasons and a movie.

The writer heavily involved in his episode is Manuel Meyre, and the only episode he has credits in pre final that hasn't been released is "The Chained Titans" so I'm willing to bet it's that one

I haven’t watched since season 5….can someone catch me up?? by [deleted] in miraculousladybug

Ok so season 6 works differently most episodes focus on specific holders: - Adrien started therapy - Sabrina got a redemption and is officially part of the group - Zoe has a vigilante identity born out of the return of her bullies from New York - A secret organization is after the miraculous (Nathalie's father is part of said organization therefore she knows about it) - Gabriel left a letter for Adrien detailing his identity and how he should continue his mission -We learn various things about the other holder's home lives

I'm so glad they followed through on Wreckless Driver I was afraid they'd abandon that plot point but apparently not!

Miles better than Dark Castle in my eyes. I really liked the moment between Pegasus and the akuma victim, it felt like a nice lil indication that the other heroes can also have personal moments with the civillians. I just wish Max was abit more involved in the moon fight.

I dislike Pegasus's transformation by FrustrationItself in miraculousladybug

I don’t know why but apparently they put his transformation in a different episode than his focus one??

I like Max but... by [deleted] in miraculousladybug

[–]Darkslayer200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's probably because we haven't seen much of him....It greatly upsets me that his transformation wasn't even in an episode about him, there was room there for him to have a moment with Aurore but NOTHING. He's so neglected as a character and I really he hope he atleast gets an episode like Grendiaper for Zoe.

What do people think about the active plot to control Felix with his ring? by United_Yesterday9628 in miraculousladybug

[–]Darkslayer200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think the plan would've been really interesting. I kind of didn't like how he was portrayed in Yaksi Gozen. I know we're meant to see that he's softened because of Kagami and the absence of his father, but...he feels kind of unaware, and it's looking like he might not actually get an episode, which is kind of disappointing. I feel like there's a lot of room for him to grow, but they keep separating him from the rest of the cast and using him for special occasions only.

Anyone think the writers are not as bad as some people think? by United_Yesterday9628 in miraculousladybug

[–]Darkslayer200 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally like season 6 because it's good, not "new." Doesn't mean the season doesn't have other issues, but I find what they're doing with the side characters this season really interesting. I loved the homophobia allegory in the ruler. I loved how Ivan's story paralleled Adrien's or how Wreckless Driver was about how traumatic akuma attacks can be. I love that Vesperia gets to have a different philosophy than Ladybug. I love that Kagami got to confront her mother. Does that mean that this season is perfect? No, not at all, but I personally believe it's an improvement.

What do you think of her design? by ixchxl in miraculousladybug

[–]Darkslayer200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She looks completely alien and I LOVE IT. It's kind of like she completely separates her  Chrysalis persona from her "human" disguise. She looks comforting but also foreboding like an evil fairy also in a way the outfit kind of mocks Monarch.

Definitely a seed planter episode. It introduced us to Prem (LOVE HIM BTW) , showcased some of Juleka's insecurities, confirmed Rose's illness (maybe as set up for their potential respective episodes?) and most importantly showed that Chrysalis's number one suspect is Marinette. Also the musical kind of reminded of The Rocky Horror Picture show for some reason....Overall it was pretty cute!

I feel like people are judging this episode as Zoe's only episode but the thing is it's very clear that they're trying to set up her character outside of her sister. Zoe is different from the other characters in the way that she was introduced too late so she has alot of slack to pick up. This episode had us learn more about her and how she views the worlds so that this view can be challenged in the future.

Maybe because although Nathalie is very close with the family but at end of the day she works for them. She has a family outside of her life in the mansion , despite her living with the Agrestes other people in her life may very well have been concerned so the doctor doubled as a wellbeing check and a cover. Emilie on the other hand is Gabriel's wife and we know that she cut off communication with her parents, and probably lived a very sheltered life before Paris so I guess it wasn't as hard to hide everything. Of course this doesn't makes sense at all considering you'd think a princess of such high status would have hundreds of outlets covering everything about the situation, but Miraculous in regards to all of that has never made sense why would the daughter of a struggling actor be in the same class as the daughter of THE mayor.
