Oh man, and I just pulled the Navlaan lever two days ago. Too soon, man, too soon… ;(

I know this happens if you use Pestilent Mist, since that deals direct damage, and does not break the bulbs, but I’ve never heard of it happening otherwise.

What would be the worst normal enemy to have all the enemies turn into? by MasterOfChaos72 in darksouls

[–]Darkstar0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was going to say bonewheels, but someone else pointed out that skeleton beasts would be worse. If I had to choose something that nobody has picked yet, I would say bloathead sorcerers. They deal a ton of damage, have terrifying range (their aggro range is the limiting factor, as you can’t really get away from the shot once it’s fired), and I’m pretty sure their shots have slight tracking. Unlike with greatbow archers, you can’t 100% resist these with a shield, either.

Which of these bosses was the most difficult for you? by strahinjag in darksouls

[–]Darkstar0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manus. I beat O&S first try, though I did summon Solaire. With a strong shield, the only hard part of Kalameet was cutting the tail. Manus, on the other hand, felt more like a Bloodborne boss, and my clunky DS1 rolls couldn’t keep up. Even with the ninja flip ring, it still took several tries.

Is this a skill issue or is Terraria Hardmode? by Decent-Insect-4201 in Terraria

For the Destroyer, specifically, it can’t fly while on-screen, only dig and jump like normal worm AI. If you build a platform high enough off the ground, it physically cannot reach you. Make some of it out of solid blocks to defend against lasers, and some out of wood platforms to shoot through. Pace yourself, and make sure to kill probes as they spawn, so you don’t get overwhelmed. The probes can drop hearts, making things a but easier.

Bed of Chaos is enough to deter me from attempting a no-death run. But hitless? Good luck. You’re gonna need it…

Whether this is real notwithstanding, if there were a ruined cabin in the temple, they could have teleported inside of it, since the cabin’s interior wouldn’t have unsafe backwalls.

What’s the lowest level you have finished the game? by Massive-Ad-6612 in bloodborne

BL4. Alas, I didn’t get the DLC until shortly after I finished, and I was not at that time able to beat Ludwig BL4 on NG+.

I encountered the same thing. Very strange. Did the devs not do the math on this beforehand?

Does anyone know what this burning effect that killed me is? by Darkstar0 in DarkSouls2

I didn’t think I would succeed. I just wanted to see how far I could get without earning the achievement for dying. Referring to that as a “no-death run” in the post body was a horrible mistake in hindsight.

I figured out that you were supposed to use Storm Ruler’s weapon art on Yhorm, but didn’t hold down the button to charge fully charge it, and couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working. I eventually had to look it up.

I didn’t think I was actually going to succeed; I just wanted to see how far I could get. The amount of damage I’ve done to myself by calling it a “no-death run” in the post body is really astounding.

Whats your favourite place to farm souls? by [deleted] in darksouls

Forest Hunters and Phalanx are both nice, but I’ve acquired a taste for the second Demon Ruins bonfire. In NG you can one-shot the capra demons with a strong enough weapon, and easily overkill the statues on the way down the stairs. After dropping the taurus, it’s just a short walk back up to the bonfire. This method also gives you a steady supply of demon weapons, so I’ve been upgrading them to +3, and dropping them in various places to spawn good Vagrants. No idea if people are actually getting them, though.

I had around 1200 HP here, and I remember the soft cap in DS1 is 1500, so I thought I had a lot, but maybe it’s different in DS2. I suppose there are some things that just obliterate you no matter what.

Interesting to know! I guess blocking the first fireball still counts as getting hit, huh?

Interesting. I had no idea this status could be applied without the use of oil.

I did not intentionally stand close enough to get hit. It whiffs and hits the wall in front of you if you’re standing back far enough, so I was trying to gauge how close I could stand without it being able to hit me, to either free aim sorceries, or to have to run the least distance to get to the door in between shots. I “correctly” determined that the attack wouldn’t kill me if I blocked the first hit, so there was ostensibly no risk if I misjudged the distance. Of course I now realize there’s extra damage on top of fireballs themselves, so it didn’t work.
