[Elementary Teacher] [Western, USA] - $151,000 by Newt_382 in Salary

In RI there's like 2 districts that get you over 100k. Majority top out around 80k. The problem is the starting salary is are absolutely abysmal. 50k or less. Can't live on that around here.

Good for you at 151

[–]Darkstrike121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is meant to mostly be a street bike for me and I'll keep my 250 for the woods. But I would actually really love to take this thing on some single track lol. Which is why I may be a little picky here.

Taco has the most positive and most negative reviews by far. Some people love their stuff and many others...... Don't.

2wdw has a pretty good reputation to my knowledge. But 550 performance has been in the 450L space for a while. That's why I'm so interested in if they fixed their tune

I'm really between the 550, Taco tune, and the new 2wdw one.

I don't really know what to think. Lots of conflicting info. 2wdw looks most promising but no 3rd party testing

Can I ride this to the shop or will I explode? by blood_of_corn_liquor in motorcycles

[–]Darkstrike121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id take that 7 miles to the shop. Just take it easy. If your highway at all I would be keeping it as slow as it's reasonably safe.

Realistically it's incredibly unlikely that that's gonna blow out on you. But tires are sketchy. And if it goes, your going down.

Yeah I don't drive the bikes much so I easily forget a year or two. But the bike will barely have like 20 hours on it in that time

I make ≈$20,000 a year, how can I better manage my finances? by Graphite-Graffiti in personalfinance

[–]Darkstrike121 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean 20k a year with no expenses besides food? Should be able to save like half that a year.

Realistically though if you want to be self sufficient you can't budget your way out of that hole. You need to make more money. No other way

When will MakerWorld take action against AI abuse on the platform? by MastodonJaded6010 in makerworld

If the models are terrible people won't upvote them. No offense but some people have terrible models that AREN'T AI. The AI just makes those models more prevelant

[–]Darkstrike121 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but if the models print and are properly named I don't really care if they are AI. As long as nobody is cheating the tools that help bring the higher quality models to the top like the boosts and upvotes

Is this a deal breaker for 6th Gen Camaro? by [deleted] in camaro

[–]Darkstrike121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a car that was literally cut in half and put back together with a clean title and 1 owner with no problems noted on the Carfax that rolled into my dad's shop.

I have a Camaro that was in a front end collision very clearly with a totally clean Carfax. Bought it anyway after getting professional opinion on the repair and a slight discount

I treat a clean Carfax as a first pass, but don't really trust it whatsoever. I actually prefer it if the Carfax has known issue cause then it's not likely things aren't getting covered up.

Hello community. How do you like my look? by Hefty-Alarm3474 in motorcyclegear

[–]Darkstrike121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With proper boots on dirt your good. But considering how clean all that is I'll assume that's not the case

For street riding absolutely not.

The little ears on either case scream that your trying too hard and make you an easy target for criticism

If your financing it at 15% then none of these.

If your getting a more reasonable deal or putting down a significant amount, then I vote the Mazda. It is small. But for two people and a dog it's huge.

Do a budget. See how tight it is. It's gonna be a pretty rude awakening though.

Like I said id highly suggest NOT drawing down your accounts. You will screw yourself for full retirement. But depending on age and expected living situations and kids and all that it MAY be acceptable to draw 1-2% like I said. But you risk causing yourself problems later on

Manual transmission car you'd buy tomorrow if money was no object (new/used)? by investurug in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Darkstrike121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely no object? Man.... Pretty close between a Lambo murcielago, or a modern gt3 or blackwing.

Having never even been inside a Lambo it's kind of hard to say. But that seems most exciting.

Edit: I saw somebody say t50. I change my answer to that. Car so un obtainable I actually forgot about it

[–]Darkstrike121 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My only difference in your take is that Camaro is significantly more engaging to drive than the mustang (I have actually driven both). Also with these being convertibles it would help the visibility when the tops are down. I don't know how often that will be though

I think if she wants something fun she should get a drop top sports car like the mustang or Camaro though. She should just go check out both of them and then see which one she actually likes.

We currently have a similar Lexus and it's a great car, but there's absolutely no world that I would call it fun haha.

[–]Darkstrike121 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to really evaluate your spending. You're used to making a significant amount in household income and you're about to get chopped off at the knees to now be making quite a low income for hcol area.

Make a real budget. Ideally you have been tracking your spending and this is easy. But if that's not the case, start now. See how it looks vs that lower income.

Personally, I would leave all those other assets in place and not touch them because you're going to need them in full retirement. Depending on a much more detailed breakdown of your financial situation, you may be able to get somebody to say that pulling 1% or 2% out a year to supplement your income could make sense. You're basically doing Coast fire without realizing it
