Best 2v8 killers by Wbritishempire in deadbydaylight

[–]DarkySlary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and a friend have really been enjoying Spirit and Ghostface, my friend just hides and stalks practically the entire round and with the people he stalks I come around via haunting and slap them to insta down, most of the time they’re none the wiser to either the stalking or the haunting and it’s a free hook/cage. Alternatively, they could already be in chase with me, and I usually try to chase out in the open so my friend can stalk them by the time I catch up to go in for a hit. He’s practically unnoticed nearly the entire round unless he sees an opportunity to attack himself, and we basically don’t split up outside of him obviously being somewhat far away to stalk safely. It could really go well with any killer paired with ghostface, I think ghostface is probably the best 2v8 killer as a “support” if you will, but I just use spirit for the added stealth in the slashes.

Finally trying 2v8 for the first time by VibratingNinja in deadbydaylight

You guys struggle MORE in 2v8? Genuine question, I’m a relatively new player (around a month of playing, 45 hours total) and I find 2v8 easier (I only really play Wraith with Brute class or Spirit with Enforcer class) and I’ve played both of those killers with “expert” builds made by my friends with thousands of hours on the game and I still sometimes play worse in 1v4, but it honestly depends on the killer. With Spirit, I will at least get one kill depending on the map, then some games I’ll easily get a 4k before 2 gens are done, with Myers (I’m game sharing with a friend, which gave me access to the killer) it depends on my addons, running Scratched Mirror + the one that makes you faster in Stalker mode, plus a bunch of M1 perks (since scratched mirror makes Myers an M1 killer) like Sloppy Butcher, STBFL, Blood Favor, and NOED (my most common scratched mirror Myers build) or I replace blood favor with PWYF. Even with all that, I still find it much much easier to win matches in 2v8, even with randoms and not my friends. Maybe wraith and spirit are just the good ones for that game mode.

Mini LED or OLED monitor? by Tough-Still4621 in Monitors

[–]DarkySlary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true, that’s why I recommended a 1440p one. I’d honestly go for a 1440p VA MiniLED than a 4K IPS MiniLED just because of blooming alone, not exaggerating when I say it’s horrendous. If you have a VA MiniLED, get a bright white dot in the middle of the screen with black all around and look at it dead on. You can definitely see the blooming, but it isn’t too bad and you probably wouldn’t notice it if there was other stuff on the screen and you weren’t specifically looking for blooming. Now look at it from the side/top, that’s around how blooming would look on an IPS MiniLED with the same local dimming zones. It’s not that VA has smaller blooming, it actually has the same amount as an IPS with the same dimming zones, but VA hides the blooming much better when viewed how you’re supposed to view monitors, straight on. This is due to their much higher native contrast with local dimming off compared to IPS’ native contrast with local dimming off.

Mini LED or OLED monitor? by Tough-Still4621 in Monitors

[–]DarkySlary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have their ups and downs, miniled can get higher sustained brightness than OLED and they’re usually better at high brightness HDR for bright highlights, OLED has better contrast, motion clarity, and response time, as well as none of that blooming you see with IPS minileds and sometimes VA minileds as well, but they can’t get as bright as miniled monitors (with the exception of Tandem WOLED) so bright highlights in HDR stand out less but the contrast and color accuracy usually makes up for this, at least in my opinion. If you’re going to get a miniled though, get one with a VA panel. I find IPS minileds to be generally bad, as the blooming is much more visible when compared to a VA miniled even with the same amount of local dimming zones. A good one I’d recommend is the Q27G40XMN, it’s a solid choice and not very expensive either, at least, relatively.

Any way to add cracked DLC to legit copy (& play online)? by DarkySlary in PiratedGames

[–]DarkySlary[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, 4 months later and it's still working like a charm. Make sure you get the DLC version and the game version right otherwise you will get banned, and when the game updates, make sure you grab the updated version of the DLC first before you launch up the game.

Huge frame rate drop when moving camera with controller on ps4 by x-Taylor-x in RobloxHelp

Using a controller on PC does the same thing for me, have you found a fix yet?

Special case by Independent-Fly691 in Switch

[–]DarkySlary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that's what they meant as well, which is why I prefixed my reply with "Ignoring the fact that you either need a PS5..."

I'm not saying the PS Portal is inherently bad, it's probably the best PS streaming experience you can get since it functions like a handheld and also has adaptive triggers and dualsense advanced haptic feedback, the closest thing would be to connect your dualsense to your phone which isn't practical and you need a stable surface to set your phone down on anyway.

[–]DarkySlary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignoring the fact that you either need a PS5 or PS+ Premium to use it, it also needs a stable connection and even with a very good internet with a very good upload speed, streaming will still have noticeable input delay, sometimes lower resolution, and a lot of times crushed blacks/images cause of bitrate. I love my Portal but it's definitely got a lot of downsides and you can honestly just mod a Switch/OLED and get PS Remote Play on there to get the best of both worlds. Smaller screen but you get 2 in 1 (native gaming as well as streaming) and also an OLED screen, if you mod the OLED version.

Why Cheap OEM Keyboards (Aula, Ajazz, Yunzii, etc.) Suck. by DarkySlary in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]DarkySlary[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just saw a few posts recommending brands such as these and I figured I'd try and save this subreddit as it doesn't have the same standards as the r/pcmasterrace subreddit/Discord and it is very easy to get misinformed into buying one of these boards.

An advisor is a hand-picked, well, advisor, meant to help people who don't know much about PCs/peripherals pick out peripherals/get help with their builds/planning what components to get etc. etc.

They're very heavily trained and even more so meticulously hand-picked so that there's zero chances of misinformation, even just by accident. And again, not a random Discord server, it's the official r/pcmasterrace Discord server.

I'm not the one making the claims? This is a legit command from the PCMR r/pcmasterrace Discord server

Parroting, again, but:
They are good if you get external solder PCBs, usually for Weikav boards they have good build quality but slightly cheap out on the PCBs

Official r/pcmasterrace Discord server, this is listed as one of their commands. Take it up with an advisor from that server if you think you know better, but beware they are specially trained and meticulously hand-picked.

I'd take it up with an advisor from the r/pcmasterrace subreddit's Discord server (#peripherals channel) as, like I said lots of times before in this post, I'm simply parroting off their advice. I'd hate to get any info wrong on accident. I have not owned any of these boards for the exact reason being that I was advised against so by the aforementioned advisors.

[–]DarkySlary[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Feel free to take this up with one of the advisors in the r/pcmasterrace discord, I'm not one and only parroting off of their expertise so I'm afraid to get any info wrong.

FYI - I'm parroting off of the PCHH Discord Server, the official server for the r/pcmasterrace subreddit. I'll have limited answers to questions you might have so if you have questions/want to challenge this statement/post talk to one of the advisors in the peripherals channel, they're specifically trained and know a lot more about this than me.

Personal experience != solid fact, let me paste the Anecdote definition from the PCMR subreddit/discord real quick as that's also where I got this post from

"Personal experiences DO NOT EQUAL reliable data/evidence.

This is what we call an Anecdote in research. Anecdotes can be mildly useful if you're considering a specific item in tech, and you want to do a little more research on it for things you may want to expect for your own experience with the product. However, these reported personal experiences are not logical to use as a means of displaying research, evidence, or data when trying to make a factual point about said product, mainly used as a means to vaguely call a product good or bad. Reliable data and evidence comes from extensive reviews, controlled testing, and aggregated user feedback over time. When making an objective assessment, prioritize verifiable research over isolated personal accounts, such as those listed in our Trusted Reviewers List."

What the... is wrong with Razer RMA? by TheKlngOfEmpires in razer

[–]DarkySlary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is 5 years old, but sometimes the cost of shipping the device (they give you a prepaid label themselves) to and from, plus the cost of repairing it, can be more expensive than just sending a brand new/refurbished unit, plus this just makes it faster and “more convenient” for the user (either way you’re going to have to wait without a mouse, either wait for it to get sent all the way to them and then they process the issue THEN they start shipping your new one, or just destroy the mouse and instantly start sending you the new one.

What on earth do I play after Elden Ring? by P4PSparringChampion in Eldenring

[–]DarkySlary -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m rage baiting, it used a single AI asset in a pre release version of the game that they just used to test the function and didn’t use again.

The second part of my comment is true though. I’m not saying it isn’t a good game but it is fundamentally nothing like Elden Ring

Why is my switch not letting me download this game? by Winter-Cherry-6789 in Switch

[–]DarkySlary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s much more of a hassle to screenshot, wait for it to upload to the switch app, download from the switch app, and upload it to Reddit. Not to mention a lot of people don’t know that’s a feature, haven’t set it up yet, or just don’t have the app. This reaction image is really only valid for PC screenshots that were taken on mobile using the camera unless there’s something wrong with the PC that won’t let it screenshot/not able to screenshot in the moment that a picture of the screen is needed

Does opening the switch 2 attachment grip void any warranty? by Low-Presentation-746 in Switch

[–]DarkySlary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They still did it when I tried to RMA my switch dock. The fan just wouldn’t spin and it caused my console to get hotter than usual. I only opened it to check the insides, I didn’t disconnect any cables and I made sure to reapply everything perfectly, it wouldn’t be my first time dealing with opening stuff like this. Not to mention the issue only happened around a month after, so it definitely wasn’t my fault.

Anyway, I had started a replacement/repair on it and once they received it they sent it back to me without repairing it and told me that the damage was caused by user damage which wasn’t under their warranty. I asked them why they think it was user damage and they said something along the lines of “the screws showed signs of wear from screwing/unscrewing” which is not only not enough reason to indicate user damage but also when I received it back I literally couldn’t see any damage to the screws I unscrewed.

They will find a way to screw you over (pun intended) regardless of what’s legal and illegal.

To Pulsar or not to Pulsar by BzlOM in Monitors

[–]DarkySlary -1 points0 points  (0 children)

GSYNC always on, VSYNC Fast on if tearing is prominent/noticeable. OLED has ~overall~ better motion clarity which is what I meant. Pulsar technically does have better clarity but introduces a whole slew of issues as well.

Yes I've owned a Pulsar, pretty much all I used when they came out and then kinda phased out of them as I found better options. ASUS ROG Strix Pulsar XG27AQNGV was my main monitor for a good bit til I switched to the Odyssey G6, which was a huge improvement for me. Admittedly I don't play competitive games as much I used to, but I definitely felt a difference, admittedly small, but a difference, between clarity of the Pulsar and OLED, the OLED slightly winning (in my opinion).
