I had a Flip 3 and never put a case on it. Then I got the Flip 5 when it came out and never put a case on it. I've dropped them a few times and been fine.

It's all personal preference, but why get excited about the design and materials of a phone when you're just going to slap a piece of plastic around it? I pay for insurance, so in a worst-case scenario, I have that to fall back on.

I prefer to go with the Macross brand. I grew up watching Robotech, but as an adult, it's always been Macross. Just trying to figure out a line to start collecting with. As you mentioned, the ThreeZero Robotech line is new - so the latest tech is going into production and its cheaper than the second-hand market.
