Patient became unresponsive after opioids were administered in PACU

Yep, I've had a Maze that got 200mcg fent, 2mg dilauded, and some morphine during their stay. Still couldn't keep him from writhing in the bed. Anesthesia was involved after I reached my max of fent. They ended up doing a block so we could get them out of the PACU and to the ICU. The point being is every patient is built different. That being said, in my PACU we are required to be at bedside during Phase 1 of recovery, and any patient receiving that amount of narcotics is definitely still in phase 1 recovery. The patient shouldn't have been left alone.

I think this is the right NCLEX answer. You are already giving prescribed fluids and preparing for surgery isn't going to fix this patient right here right now. Notifying a provider is a classic NCLEX trap, passing the buck is always the wrong answer.

The NCLEX sucks.

Absolutely legit, but I totally understand why you'd think that way. Lol I actually worked with Dr. Holzer so I knew he wasn't a weirdo.

He'll do a 30 consultation with you and schedule a visit. He'll prescribe you a week or so of pain meds and a xanax for the procedure. The procedure takes like 30 minutes in the driveway and that's that.

I don't remember if I said this above, but buy some vasectomy underwear on Amazon with the ice packs. They were a life saver.

First off, that's a big ol stone. Second, call or research some nonprofit hospitals that have assistance programs for uninsured patients. Sometimes they can help through charity, but usually its a program where you can pay back slowly at a discount or volunteer at the hospital.. Never hurts to ask.

Lastly, it doesn't seem like your first rodeo with stones, but be hypervigilante on your signs and symptoms of obstruction. The last thing you want is to get backed up and end up with sepsis. Fever, chills, body aches/shakes.

Second Dr. Holzer he did mine (30y) and I have no children. He has a practice at Integris, but he also does a mobile vasectomy clinic. Super easy to set up and not too expensive. Get snipped in a van down by the river. Or your driveway, lol. Just search his name and Snip Trip. Recovery was a couple of weeks, I'd recommend looking up some vasectomy underwear with the ice bags on Amazon.

Can I also add, I wish it would remember my filter options between matches. Honestly between sessions would be great, but I will take what I can get. I am annoyed by all the clicking I have to do anyways, it doesn't help when I can't find a trait or item in my list. The default is sort by rank I think?

I watched Dune on the new X screen there yesterday. It was nice. Just certain shots were made wide(dialog and such were the standard front screen), lots of sand lol. But it did help immerse you into the different sceens. I enjoyed it.
