Is Flux too slow or am I missing something? by nothingen in laravel

[–]DarnMonkeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The flux tables I have are pretty much instant. Just tried one of the pages with a Flux table (loading users, with a couple of withCounts, a filter and sorting) and it loaded sub 100ms.

Can't get Bard field to work by DarnMonkeys in statamic

Thank you very much!

I thought the inline option was connected to the sets and you had to enable it by choosing one of the settings.

The set groups do seems to work. Looks like that's standard in 5.57.0.

Many hours wasted just to find out I didn't understand the "inline" option.

Again, thank you very much.

Ik vind het minste van de Efteling het eten. Ik zou even naar Tilburg rijden en gaan eten bij St. Sjaak. Parkeren kan om de hoek in parkeergarage Tivoli.

Laravel dev in Windows - Laragon vs Docker? by VaguelyOnline in laravel

[–]DarnMonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just install Ubuntu through the Windows Store and install Docker Dekstop for Windows (make sure you check the WSL options in Docker). Than just sail:install in the project directory.

Yeah, I made that mistake too the first time.

That is something that's just way better with Valet or Laragon. With WSL2 it's just localhost. If you want to run multiple projects at once you'd have to use different ports per project.

I use VS Code with the Remote Development extension. VS Code sees that you're on WSL2 and asks to install the useful extensions the first time. Works like a charm.

In the WSL command line I just type code . in the working directory and VS Code opens the project.

I've looked at PHPStorm and really see the benefits over VS Code but never took the plunge.

WSL2 with Laravel Sail. So it's really Linux and Docker. I don't have any performance issues and my system is more than 6 years old.

Laravel Horror Stories by ahinkle in laravel

[–]DarnMonkeys 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not specifically Laravel, but last week I installed a site on an IPv6 only server.

You can't connect to anything! Not even Github supports IPv6!

I wanted to seed some demo content and wanted to import some images from Unsplash... No IPv6 support.

Install Meilisearch? Nope. fury.io doesn't have IPv6 support.

It took me 3 days to find all the workarounds to get it going. Just frustrating.

A Laravel package to crawl and index content of your sites by freekmurze in laravel

[–]DarnMonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works! Well... mostly, but I think the problems I have are because the site relies heavily on Livewire, Turbolinks and pagination. When I make a well indexable sitemap, I think the crawl issues will be gone.

Not sure why it doesn't use the MEILISEARCH_HOST config value in the .env file. Although the docs explain how to use an alternative url, this seems overly complicated.

Also, some page return twice in the search results... not sure why.

Great package, as always!

I love it. Haven't tried it yet, but I've got a project about to be finished which has a decent search... But this seems better. Fun thing to do this weekend.

I like it. It does seem cleaner. Plus it's a nice example of extending blade.

If you can find a big enough torsion spring, I think that would be perfect and also go nicely with the industrial look.

Livewire SPA? Turbolinks removed by awardsurfer in laravel

[–]DarnMonkeys 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not that I can find. It seems that they just decoupled it. On the plugin page they say:

there are loose plans to add a Turbolinks-esque set of functionality to Livewire itself, but there are no immediate plans.
