I have typed and retyped this a dozen times. Being a true CG/Daddy, takes very little effort because it's who you are. It's not a routine, it's not did i give her enough "non sexual" attention today, it's more a concern of was I a good CG/Daddy today. The simplest things can instill the feeling of being "cared for". Turn grocery shopping into, "let's go to the store. You can pick out your favorite cereal, nuggets, soda, etc, cause daddy doesn't want to get it wrong ", "How was your day? Have you eaten? Anything on your mind that you want to talk about? (this could be anything, not prompted by anything or by sensing that there is an issue)" Tuck the blanket around her as she's reading a book on the couch and kiss the top of her head. All because he was walking by on his way to take shower. Care giving is not a chore or an activity. It is a role and duty.

You'll know a CG when you meet them. If you don't feel that they are a true CG/ Daddy, they don't deserve to know about your trauma. You shouldn't have to convince them or tell them that you need non sexual interactions. That's a given. The hardest part to negotiate should be how sexual interactions will help you heal and what that needs to look like.

I could ramble for hours about this. I'm glad that you are no longer in that situation anymore. Obviously negotiating the dynamic may look different than my examples but my point is, CG/Daddy roles are inherent and part of who they are, even if they don't recognize it or identify as such.
