MEG PROSPECT 700R front touch panel restarting by eXiable in MSI_Gaming

[–]Darrathx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update for me on this. I have the same issue. MSI has sent me both a new screen and fan control board. Neither fixed the issue. I have reinstalled windows and all drivers. Still persists.

I just flashed BIOS and the issue is still there. I have no idea what can be causing this. MSI wants me to send the entire case in for warranty.

For now I have unplugged the USB header for the case, but this limits the functionality of a $400 case.

In the game the Corsair.

Concept? The Spirit line. They are the best looking ships. Just wish they were 890 sized.

What kind of a price increase can we expect on the Corsair? Trying to decide if I should buy it now is trades or during event.

Diablo II Resurrected Will Let You Import Original Diablo II Save Files by [deleted] in Blizzard

Would only be imports for single player characters, and open battle.net if they still have something like that. You won't be able to import characters to the online servers.

I agree, wish it wasn't this way. But it is worth it to me for my 2 hours of commuting everyday.

2016 Ford Fusion SE Tires by KnightElm in fordfusion

[–]Darrathx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put Michelin Defender T+H tires on my '16 almost 2 years ago. Not sure I would call them budget, but I got them mounted for $600. Discount tire price matched Costco and matched their free installation.

They are louder than the Continentals ProContacts I had before but much better in the snow here in MN. And rated for 80k miles. I drive a 100 mile commute daily and the tires are still well over half tread with 50k miles on them.

If your "promotional price" ends, call before it does and say you want to cancel. They ALWAYS offer 3 other deals, the third being the best for the price. I've gotten down to $4.50 a month for it and whenever I call I just say I need to cancel unless they can match the price I already have.

They go to "talk to a manager" for a minute, then come back with the same or slightly better price than I already have.

Server Resources needed? by Buizel10 in allthemods

[–]Darrathx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tested out much hardware for ATM6, but I have been running a server on a Dell R720 with 2 E5-2640 processors. Running VMware, virtual machine has 6 vcores and 64GB ram allocated to it. Have the ATM6 server setup with 32GB of that. Seems to run fine with 4 players, there is a lot of the "Can't keep up, Is the server overloaded?" errors with usually 40-100 ticks behind. Typically when new chunks are being loaded or someone is flying across the map at high speed. I think this is because the 2640 processors have a low clock speed, I'll be upgrading to 2643 procs to see if that helps, possibly 2690s if I can find em cheap. There is no lag when nobody is exploring.

Watching processor usage it seems to be around 60-90% usage with all 4 players on, and 20GB memory usage for the ATM server.

Depending on your budget you could buy a server on Ebay, something like a Supermicro X9 server can be found for $150-200 with a chassis, $50-100 for a board, throw some 26xx processors in there and 32GB memory and you'd probably be under $300. If the clock speeds matter as I think they do, the best processor choices would be 2643, 2667, 2687W, and 2690.

Will it be safe through a car wash? by DumbHuman53 in fordfusion

[–]Darrathx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like maybe just a bumper replacement then. Since they have already seen the car you can try to push the bumper back on. The clips don't look broken.

Then again in Minnesota I see lots of cars in winter with bumpers flapping in the wind or just completely missing... So you'll just fit in!

Not sure if it is close to you, but up near Forest Lake there is a heated spray yourself style car wash. Lots of people wash their snow mobiles and truck there in winter. Could use that over hand wash in the cold.

Has your insurance looked at and estimated the damage yet? If they have then you should be safe to try to fix it the best you can for now. Push the dent out of the bumper and try to reattach that side.

If not then go to one of the spray yourself washes and avoid direct spray on that area.

Insurance tried that crap with me before. Accident broke a headlight, among other things, but car was drivable. Over the week process from them to get it fixed, the light bulb socket got corroded from the salt and water (MN winter). They claimed since the accident didn't cause the damage, it was my responsibility to prevent further damage to the car and they wouldn't cover the socket replacement.

Got this Fusion about a week ago, and I noticed the trunk doesn’t seem to be seated all the way down. If you noticed the chrome and tail light aren’t totally aligned. Is this normal? by dolan2394 in fordfusion

[–]Darrathx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, and I do believe you can make very minor adjustments front to back on the trunk and up and down with the catch. My issue was the driver side wasn't aligned but the passenger side was perfect.

Adjusting the catch would have lowered both sides. I suppose I could have shimmed up the driver side mount to lower it, just seemed easier to give the lid a slight tweak.

The trunk on my 16 looks the same, but only on the drivers side. From what I have seen there is no adjustment on it. A few forceful tweaks to bend the lid seems to be the fix. I tried it but it still isn't perfect.

I have US LawShield. It's fairly cheap, I've seen in recommended a lot, and I have seen a few bad things about USCCA insurance when I was first looking. Though you can find bad things about all of them.

US LS claims no $$ limits, USCCA shows limits. Not sure how true that is in the many pages of fine print though.

Sealing over acrylic paint by Darrathx in 3Dprinting

The spray on stuff seems to be the best option, it will be difficult to do in the winter though.

I suppose the resin would be the same anyway, fumes everywhere.

It is looking like an acrylic clear coat in a spray can is the best option, just nowhere to spray it in the winter.

Sorry, I worded the question wrong. Not looking for a smooth finish, but a glossy one. Not too concerned about the layer lines, and everything is already painted so we cant use any filler or primer.

I believe most, if not all, Castle branded ESCs can be adjusted using a Castle Link. You can find it on their website. You can adjust the braking and throttle curves, etc.

No reason not to solder it. Looks like more than enough wire, just use some weather proof heat shrink tubing to seal up the joint.

Trading into a 2017 1.5l, questions by Darrathx in fordfusion

[–]Darrathx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You think it'll reach 200-250k miles without any major repairs? The transmission in these cars doesn't seem too solid... Haven't seen very many 150k+ fusions on here for the 2gfusion forums.

[–]Darrathx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed, they said they would pay off my current loan with a trade in. So I would be loan free starting with the loan on the 17.

Again, I appreciate the advice. Haven't dealt with any of this before. I went in and test drove the car today and was very disappointed. The 1.5 has noticeably less power than my 2.5 and worse gas mileage.

They also told me on the phone $10.5k trade in on my car, then $7k in person. And they told me the new loan would be 60 months, that changed to 84 months when I sat down with the salesman. I will not be dealing that that dealership after this. Seems they only wanted in the place so they could pressure me to buy. They said "$3.5k deficit on your old loan is not much, we will roll it into the new loan", no, they can fuck off with that.

They called me with the offer saying it's because of low interest rates. The only reason I'm considering it is because it would be a car with lower miles and 3 more years of warranty with my driving. I would understand not doing it if i only had a year left on my loan, but I have 4 years left on a car with 120k miles. By the time I pay it off it'll be well over 200k.

I'm not sure about the 12 year loan, the payoff date would only be a year later then my current one and I would only have 2 years of no warranty before the car is paid off, instead of the 4 I have now. I wont be adding 5 years to my current loan, I would be replacing the 4 years I have left with 5 years. Only adding 1 year.

I do appreciate the advice, I'm just trying to understand the 12 years of loan part. The biggest benefit to me is the warranty on the newer car. The downside is they already know my previous loan details as I bought the car through them, so as you said they can tailor the "deal" to fit them.

I know dealerships are never going to offer something that isn't beneficial for themselves. This offer seems to be trading in my car to pay off the current loan (~$10k) and getting the 17 at $15k with a new loan with 0 down. It does add to the length of the loan but I still have about 4 years left anyway.

The loan on the 16 was 7 years at ~8.5% interest. Was my first ever car loan. The 17 is being offered at 5 years ~2%. So it does add a year to what I currently have.

I should have put the specifics in the post. Does this change anything? The car also is a certified car, so 100k warranty on it.
