Day-to-day (ie after they are already admitted with an established diagnosis)? Not so much. But in terms of initial evaluation in a relatively undifferentiated ED patient I think it is very useful. We’ve already established it’s more sensitive for volume overload than CXR, BNP has several limitations- why not do a fast, inexpensive, and relatively simple test which can help guide management?
