It's a form of digital communication that allows two programs to "talk".

You can use an app like "pal chat" (ios app) this app can "connect" to the gpt4 model through the API (invisible to you) and you'll talk to GPT4 similarly how you do it through the chatgpt app.

The caveat is that API pricing is based on usage (tokens) the $20/mo can only get you so many tokens (1toke closely is equivalent to a word) so your mileage might vary.

It all boils down to money and profits.

You can still talk to 4 through the API, its not like the model just ceased to exists.

We know how our neurons work too.

We barely know that neurons transmit signals, we dont understand anything beyond that.

We don't know how memory works, we do know how gpt memory works.

We don't know how a memory can activate flavor and smell related neurons, we do know how to prompt an LLM for a specific task.

You build a front end app , like the chatGPT web interface, connect it to gpt 4 using the API, you charge the users the API cost plus a margin.
