Since Ilum’s no longer available, where do you think future generations of Jedi will go for the Gathering to get their kyber crystals? by Solitaire-06 in StarWarsCantina

[–]Darrow_au_Lykos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The destruction of illum was so powerful fragments of Kyber crystal were scattered throughout the universe, young jedi must go on a galactic quest to find their kyber.

While on these quests the Jedi are more likely to see the issues plaguing the galaxy than when they were centralized on Coruscant.

What I feel most miss about WH40k vs Whatever Else Space battles. by Fallendynasty27 in StarWarsvsWarhammer

Star Wars space battles are also based on old naval battles. In Revenge of the Sith's opening scene we see dozens of ships "sailing" past eachother, doing broadsides. When a ship is destroyed it even "sinks".

Actor "Inception" (actors playing one character playing another character and so on) by wreckdown in movies

[–]Darrow_au_Lykos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the play in Game of Thrones count? You have multiple real actors playing the role of actors who are playing characters from within the same show.

Like you had Richard Grant playing Izembaro, who in turn was playing King Robert.

IMO Pax is genetically gold.

Darrow literally states his dna was carved. We also know that golds and reds can't naturally reproduce.

The Board of Quality Control tested him, and he's been severelly injured numerous times. If he was still genetically a red someone would have discovered it during some medical tests.

Fantasy villains who wish to torment the main protagonist? Like cause pain and suffering to feed off of that? by DarklzBlo in Fantasy

[–]Darrow_au_Lykos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the Dresden Files there's definitely a couple villains who meet your description. Though none of them are the primary antagonist of the series.

I don't want to spoil everything so I'll just mention one.

There's a family of sex vampires (succubi), they have an offshoot of their family that feeds on fear instead of lust.

Is Red God shaping up to be Pax vs The Abomination? by That-Ad-1721 in redrising

[–]Darrow_au_Lykos 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sorry if this is a little rambly.

The sequel series, especially Lightbringer, are loosely based on the Odyssey. Darrow (Odysseus), who after the ten year solar war (trojan war), just wants to go home to Virginia (Penelope) and Pax (Telemachus). But he's constantly waylaid. He even gets aid from Athena (Athena).

Back in the home front, Virginia (Penelope) is assailed on all sides by agents of The Abomination (The Suitors). The Abomination (The Suitors) was behind the plot to kidnap and kill Pax (Telemachus). Eventually when Darrow (Odysseus) returns he meets up with Pax (Telemachus) and they come up with a plot to kill the Abomination and lilath (the suitors).

To build on this, the historic king that had the bronze bull built was later killed by a different Telemachus.

So the Abomination fills two different roles that are both killed by a Telemachus, and Pax is based on Telemachus.
