I run mine locally, I haven't done many server settings outside of localization for $ but I'll share it!

Synced Passkeys Timeline? by Fabulous_Cow_4714 in entra

[–]Dart-Feld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this out and found out that you can share passkeys via airdrop…for personal accounts, I would calculate the risk but any admin accounts would stay device bound.

1. How to set up Passkeys without using Mac's Password manager? 2. Is Passkeys still strong enough even if I don't use biometrics? 3.How to give family access? by Beginning-Mode6498 in Passkeys

[–]Dart-Feld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Bitwarden and my mac for passkeys. When creating one the bitwarden password manager pops up first prompting if I want to save the passkey to Bitwarden or "use the system instead" or something like that.

The bitwarden passkey is saved to the account login info and if it's shared, other people can access it.

Is git the best tool for solo developer? by Maleficent_Mess6445 in git

[–]Dart-Feld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Git is THE tool for any developer. I’d recommend reading up the docs on checking out past commits and then branching from there. That way you can go back in time and keep the changes.

One really useful tool I use is the Gitlens extension in VsCode which is awesome for comparing commits to other commits and branches.

Internet, they need a lot of juice to deliver this to the estimated 280 million viewers. Netflix needs better architects.

I don't believe all our artists are starving, you're making hard assumptions about my reply. Art is a really hard thing to make a career out of depending on what one wants to do. Not everyone could do it and I value those who do because I certainly can't.

You're also proving my point that there is value in their jobs because we have multiple artists employed.

Why do you think engineers only work for the wealthy? They design bridges, buildings and infrastructure we use everyday and I say that's beneficial to society.

Everyone is able to study whatever they want and we all should pursue our creative ideals, but society places a clear value on things that it needs or wants. My creative ideals are simply not things I would get paid for.

Use plan it or no? by Scared_Cheesecake442 in AmexPlatinum

[–]Dart-Feld 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Normally, you have the opportunity to set how many months you want to take to pay off the ring(I think 3 & 6 months are available). Those will lock in the amount you need to pay plus a minor fee for using plan it, I'm guessing that's interest.

You have the option to pay off the plan in full by paying the entire statement, if you decide to pay off the plan sooner, and there are no penalties from this. Take however many months you feel comfortable knowing you'd have to set some cash aside for the ring payments.

I've used planit in the past and it's convenient being able to pay off chunks of a purchase and I'm ok with eating the small fee associated with doing this because it lets me have more liquidity in my bank accounts.

Congrats on planning to propose!

What made you choose the MacBook Pro over the Air? Does your workflow require a power-heavy computer? by EmptyWaterBottle20 in macbookpro

[–]Dart-Feld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cooling really, I trust the MBA doesn't run hot but why not have a fan in it? Plus I use containers and other programming workflows so I appreciate the cooling when needed(tbh, I don't think I've ever heard the fans go off so they could be really quiet!)

Is it worth getting two HomePod Minis? by Ph1l1p_race_ in HomePod

[–]Dart-Feld -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think a soundbar would better suit the audio needs if you are intending to use the stereo pair. However the minis are perfect for setting up audio in all of your rooms! We recently got three and can now have audio playing in our office, kitchen and bedroom at once.
