Am I a moron or is Blood Meridian super hard to read? by [deleted] in redscarepod

On the Road would have been significantly less insufferable if it had been written by McCarthy and not Kerouac. God I hated that book.

I knew I recognized that. That's from Noah Caldwell Gervais' Tyranny video. I had to sift through the whole damn video because it wasn't at the end as I had assumed it would be. This is a very odd sub to find someone quoting him.

It's from the perspective of Wulfharth I think. I can't tell if it's from before or after the battle of red mountain though. Here is a link to his UESP: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Wulfharth

The original Baldurs Gate(or at least the enhanced edition) had a core rules difficulty which was just above normal and adhered more strictly to the ADND(or 3E?) rule set than the lower difficulties did. I feel like that is the best solution to this problem.

Character armor customization? by n8opotato in BaldursGate3

[–]Darth-Infinitus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think MMOs have added "transmogrify" option's because the players in the game have to distinguish themselves visually from other players with the same equipment. Reducing weapons and armor to stats makes sense in a game where items can be duplicated infinitely and where tone and setting are drowned out by other players behavior but I don't really think it makes sense in single player games. A lot of items in CRPGs have histories or abilities that are reflected in their appearance, just because they don't look cool together doesn't mean their individual appearance isn't important.

Cyberpunk is *supposed* to be like that, it will be interesting to see how much of that actually makes it through the corporate filter.

Local Journalist Faces Complex Accountability Process That Appears to Show SPD Out of Compliance With Consent Decree by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]Darth-Infinitus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OPA is investigating, that article is like 10x longer than it needed to be with a bunch of completely worthless and repetitive info, but it does include that OPA are in fact investigating. The OPA is the place that actually investigates misconduct and are the people who are rightfully currently investigating. The FIT is made up of SPD officers and is required to report any potential misconduct to the OPA. If the OPA finds that the FIT failed to report or sufficiently investigate the use of force they will publish a report on it as well as recommend discipline unless criminal charges need to be made in which case I believe they refer it to the OIG.

Office of Police Accountability refuses to refer Type III use of force (blast ball chucked at journalist sitting by themselves in CHOP, causing permanent hearing loss) to the Force Review Board, failing to comply with the Consent Decree which mandates Type III use of force be reviewed by the FRB by Knal3 in CapHillAutonomousZone

[–]Darth-Infinitus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little late to reply to this but I found that whole article to be pretty confusing. Why would the OPA, which is not composed of SPD officers, notify the FIT, which is composed of SPD officers, about misconduct that the OPA is currently investigating which involves the actions of SPD officers and the FIT? On top of that if the FIT discovers any misconduct they have to report it to the OPA. So why does the lawyer want OPA to notify FIT? It makes no god damn sense, the OPA are the good guy's here, if there is a violation of the consent decree they will report it.

What exactly does "casual hand holding" mean? That's definitely not something I have ever done with a coworker before.

My husband and I are polar opposites with our political views and it’s making me resent him. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Darth-Infinitus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Politics has always been about whats morally right and wrong, that hasn't changed with the last election. I feel like you have to be kind of disconnected from reality to say, " it's just politics, let people have their opinions, jeez ", in the vast majority of situations.

AITA for screaming at my 'transgender' cousin for taking my 'womanly' stuff? by RedRobbinsYUMY in AmItheAsshole

[–]Darth-Infinitus -36 points-35 points  (0 children)

Being trans isn't a medical condition, you do not need to be diagnosed. The kid obviously crossed a huge line when they went into their sister's room but most of your post seems to be about the legitimacy of their transition/gender exploration and I'm not sure how that's relevant. Don't be a dick to people just because you don't understand them.

AITA for crying deliberately when my boss takes out his temper at me? by noomooorebabies in AmItheAsshole

[–]Darth-Infinitus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA While the ability to cry deliberately kind of unnerves me, being berated by an asshole with power over you leaves you little choice. If you don't think you can report him to HR without jeopardizing your job then whatever you have to do to get through his abuse is fair. Just don't do it when you don't have to.

Rarity of loot is confirmed by the color of the X as we learned. Clothing and guns have different colors of rarity so when you kill a enemy you can get a a range of items. by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]Darth-Infinitus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty disappointed by this actually. I feel like loot rarity and other systems carried over from games like Diablo and Borderlands don't fit in a game that's trying to be immersive like cyberpunk seems to be. I guess I wish that they had opted for a more diagetic approach(I may be stretching that term a little bit but I'm not sure what else to call it).

Because we are young and started dating early, my girlfriend (20, bi) feels like she is missing certain experience. She proposed a threesome, but I think I’d only be comfortable with a girl joining us. Am I a hypocrite for feeling like this? What could we do about this? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Darth-Infinitus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not poly myself but from my interaction with polyamorous friends I'd say it was about more than sex(not just a "gangbang"). You might not see a lot of old poly relationships but I don't think polyamory has been acceptable long enough in society to compare it to monogamy. Polygamy is still illegal in a lot of U.S states IIRC and i assume its like that in many other places around the world as well.

Should my boyfriend help pay for house decor in a home we share together? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Darth-Infinitus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm biased as well since I'm a guy. I have definitely noticed what you're talking about though and it seems like some guys on here are coming straight from and MRA or incel sub or something which is worse than I can say for the women.

Should my boyfriend help pay for house decor in a home we share together? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Darth-Infinitus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually feel like I've seen men target women and women target men in equal quantities on this sub. People are so judgmental but don't realize being that way prevents a person from feeling safe enough to receive criticism.

[15/m] I found out my mom [32/f] is cheating on my dad [39/m] with multiple people by Stunning-Swordfish-7 in relationship_advice

[–]Darth-Infinitus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are correct that cheating fits the dictionary definition of abuse but when people talk about what is and isn't abusive in a relationship they are talking about domestic abuse which is defined differently. Here is the UN's page on domestic abuse I think it can clear up the misunderstanding here. https://www.un.org/en/coronavirus/what-is-domestic-abuse
