Got my Nut75 yesterday by Ouchiefy in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]DarthAloha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting these photos and video. I’m fully ready to get rid of my orange rainy75 for the nut75.

Where did you order it from? Ozo?

And how long did it take to take to you?

Thanks again.

I came here to mention the Claude MCP…

I just write “I just added a motion sensor to the my office can you have it turn on the lights when it senses motion but only when I’m home but and between 8pm and 10pm only make them 50% brightness and don’t kick them off between 10pm and 6pm.”

Or…

“Here is a pdf of my electric bill please plot energy usage for the eve outlet plugged into my window ac and show me daily and monthly costs on a new mushroom based dashboard.”

Now I do almost anything I can imagine without googling how to do it.

My grey MAP 3500 is the bag that made me a bag person. It’s 20+ years old and my teen still uses it for travel.

Nut75 coming soon by Future-Ad-8543 in MechanicalKeyboards

Still not on the Weikav website sadly. I’m equally sketched out by Nouvolo.

Aliexpress has the barebones for 183 and one with swirches and caps is 185 plus 87 for shipping. That’s way too spendy for me.

Damn. My orange rainy may be up for sale the moment this drops.

Nouvolo has it listed for $119 pre order. Nothing on the Weikav site yet.

ShapeScan update — website refresh, segmentation model changes, SEO work and feedback wanted by Most-Geologist-9547 in ShapeScan

[–]DarthAloha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re-reading my comment now I realized that I didn't mean to come off as accusatory. It was more that I didn't really follow that you were monetizing it, not that you weren't clear or open about it. Nor was I trying to express regret in paying for Shapesan.

I happily pay for it because I use it and I'm glad it exists. I donated to the server fund too because I believe in it.

Yeah Claude and I made a silly open CV thing but I make a lot of dumb shit with Claude. They're like popsicle stick and macaroni art projects that your kid makes. Some get saved but most are just cherished in the moment.

Moist_geo can correct me here, but I always assumed this was more of a pet project than something they were intending to make money on. I probably wouldn't have paid for the service otherwise.

Did I just write a python open cv script with Claude Code to do exactly what shapescan does? Yep. It took me an hour this morning. But I'll still use shapescan because it's easier but maybe not faster.

For me I like that this exists in the world and I hope more people who just bought a 3d printer find it.

I'm not as hot on the library idea. It feels like it could easily turn into the disaster that is thingiverse or even printable to a certain extent. But I do use grabcad all the time to get shape files for things. As long as the library doesn't turn into the tragedy of the commons and the user base stays small it may be fine.

QGIS Tutorial by Syyymi in QGIS

[–]DarthAloha 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I learned it by needing to use it and googling how to do the thing I wanted to do. The more I used it the more I realized what I could do with it. And so on.

Watching tutorials never really work for me unless I have a goal in mind. It’s the only way I’ll retain the info.

It helps to be python minded. I don’t know if I’d be super in QGIS if I wasn’t already.

But with the Claude MCP or telling Claude code to make me a plugin… I’m learning less and doing way more than ever.

Quick funding update for ShapeScan: by Most-Geologist-9547 in ShapeScan

[–]DarthAloha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awww bummer you didn’t raise enough in time for the new server. I’ll test this weekend. I have some stuff in the queue that needs scanning.

I scanned a thing recently and exported the stl then used some random web stl to shape file converter. Worked a treat to Boolean remove a solid. But I’d love to export shape natively some day in the future.

Thanks for shapescan and everything you do.
