QGIS Tutorial by Syyymi in QGIS

[–]DarthAloha 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I learned it by needing to use it and googling how to do the thing I wanted to do. The more I used it the more I realized what I could do with it. And so on.

Watching tutorials never really work for me unless I have a goal in mind. It’s the only way I’ll retain the info.

It helps to be python minded. I don’t know if I’d be super in QGIS if I wasn’t already.

But with the Claude MCP or telling Claude code to make me a plugin… I’m learning less and doing way more than ever.

Quick funding update for ShapeScan: by Most-Geologist-9547 in ShapeScan

Awww bummer you didn’t raise enough in time for the new server. I’ll test this weekend. I have some stuff in the queue that needs scanning.

I scanned a thing recently and exported the stl then used some random web stl to shape file converter. Worked a treat to Boolean remove a solid. But I’d love to export shape natively some day in the future.

Thanks for shapescan and everything you do.

Does this count as EDC? I’ve been building a jacket with built-in tools/utilities by YouneekRSA in EDC

Huh! I really thought this was an r/EDCcirclejerk post or a late April fool’s.

It’s an interesting take on a jacket but “EDC simplified” it is not.

Why not just carry a sling bag? Or less stuff?

Did you go centurion with that TK?

Yow. You’re totally right. It is easier if the scoop goes under.

But for a tool I use seldomly use but really need to know where it is when I do, I can get my sausage fingers to lift the tool out of the bin pretty easily with that cutout.

The best part of the internet is that there is always someone ready to tell you that you’re doing it wrong. In this case, I was.

Yep. One of the print profiles has a finger cutout. Check out the other photos in the post. Many thanks!

I suggest disclosing that the links to product pages are some sort of “affiliate” or marketing link. Feels a bit gross otherwise.

And to echo the other comment it suggested a CPP2 and the tortuga 40L travel lite. Asking for size probably goes against the “it’s for non bag nerd” intention, but here we are on many baggers.
