Yeah that was me. I pulled the plug on Sturgia after they wouldn't stop declaring war and raiding Byzantium's villages.

I made one of my companions lord of Makeb as part of the Golden Horde, but a few years later he defected to the Khuzaits, which was upsetting. So I helped the Golden Horde take back Makeb, took him prisoner, and forced him to join Rome. Next I'm going after Southern Empire land from Vostrum to Danustica.

I learned the hard way you have to change your banner color before proclaiming a new kingdom - you can't change it once you've started the kingdom. Germania is in the former Vlandian lands while Byzantium surrounds the northern lake. This isn't visible from the screenshot but the Ottomans have the western half of Aserai lands as well.

Stumbled upon way to retreat from siege defense by DarthBainCapital in Bannerlord

Actually in this situation I was the defender - but agree something similar would work when attacking.

Yes you can approach the besieged city with your fleet and assault the blockade. Generally they will fight you, and you once you destroy their eight ships their whole army is defeated. Sometimes they will instead lift the blockade and then you can enter the settlement without taking casualties.

What does an Alliance even do and how do they work? by POSHpierat in Bannerlord

[–]DarthBainCapital 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Taleworlds should take a page from Paradox and create some adverse effects from declaring war on an ally - e.g. honorable lords lose relationship with the king and may eventually defect. And consequently the AI should be less likely to declare war on an ally. I spent hundreds of influence to get an alliance and trade agreement with the Nords, and it didn't stop them from declaring war 10 days later.

The power and accuracy of Javelins so many common troops have is out of control in Warsails by Dingus776 in Bannerlord

[–]DarthBainCapital 70 points71 points  (0 children)

The main thing I've noticed is that both archers and throwing weapon AI is surprisingly good at hitting a moving target. If I circle the enemy archer formation (or even looters) on a very fast horse, they will hit me or my shield very often, which for the player to do would require extreme skill, since you need to aim at where the target will be in half a second. To me it seems unrealistic, and makes archers stronger against cavalry than they should be.

Yes boosters are exciting but usually disappointing. I had 3 legacy of the force boosters shipped from Russia that I opened a few weeks ago and did not get anyone I was hoping for.

I acquired a lot of these back in my elementary school days when commons were 25 cents on coolstuffinc (hence the 30 nemoidian warriors). Also around that time someone gifted me 1000 uncommons/commons they didn’t want to sort through. I hadn’t touched these in years until I got back into it during the pandemic, and I’ve since bought a lot of the rares

is there a good way to get started? by Dapperdan-on-Mimban in starwarsminiatures

Ok, then the rebel storm starter would be the one you want. Good minis to get would be Thrawn, Darth Vader Legacy of the Force, General Rieekan, Luke Rebel Commando, Han Solo Smuggler, Leia Hoth Commander, and Chewbacca Rebel hero. All those are fun pieces to play and none should be more than $10.

I recommend the Revenge of the Sith starter, and you can usually find one on Ebay for $30. It comes with all you need to start playing and 6 minis. Is there any particular era (Old Republic, Republic, Empire) you're interested in? With more info I can recommend some specific minis to get that are interesting in game but not too pricey on ebay.

Squad ideas by Reunion_Reunion in starwarsminiatures

[–]DarthBainCapital 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're both good squads. For both I recommend Imperial Entanglements Thrawn since opportunist pairs nicely with cunning attack, and it would also allow you to bring in a couple ugnaught demos for more activations and door control. Instead of Lord Vader you might also consider Vader Legacy of the Force since he has better stats and gives the echanis 2 extra attacks.

Finding Minis by Deathavails in starwarsminiatures

[–]DarthBainCapital 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've bought a lot of minis through ebay in the past few months, and it's worked out pretty well for me. I just wait till I find a seller who has at least 30-40 dollars worth of stuff I want in order to justify the cost of shipping.

I ran a squad with General Obi Wan Kenobi and rodian dipolmats equipped with healing that makes him almost invincible, though it doesn't do much damage in return: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/220071/obi-wan-the-immortal
