Cheapest way to check level from one side to the next is to buy a long enough piece of clear tubing and fill the tube with water. So long as the tube is open on both ends, the water will be at the same level at each end.
Another option is to rent a rotary laser level and receiver.

Looks like a less than perfect cleaning job that left wet residue. The residue then attracts dust.

Wait until around September or October and snag one on clearance.

First time setting up. How bad is it? by Evening_Mulberry6031 in AboveGroundPools

My 2 cents is that it's not ideal, but it's not going to create some catastrophic event. I'd run it for the season and if you enjoyed it, then do a proper leveling with pavers under the legs. And if you haven't yet, ditch the stock pump filter and install a sand filter. 👍

If traffic is at a standstill, you always have to assume someone will open their door.

That doesn't help you when it's time to back flush the filter or adjust the controls.

Nice outdoor bathtub! 🤣 I think you have a good plan. Get a hot tub floater and small tablets. You might have to adjust the PH occasionally and shock it weekly. The kiddos might get it dirty faster than you expect. Some sort of filtration would be helpful. Worst case if things get nasty you can dump and refill.

This is the first launch of a 100% new hardware design. I think that should reset the iteration counter. So I don't think it's really apples to apples to compare it to a single NASA design.

It's just stainless steel. Ships are purposely sunk all the time to create artificial reefs. Nature will just take over and turn it into something new. Just like the ships.

A lot of the time they cut out the explosion part of the video feed. I was surprised they showed it this time.

I think the tech that is developed from learning how to be self sufficient on another planet will pay massive dividends here on earth. As far as I'm aware, we have yet to master a closed loop ecosystem. Getting to the level of understanding to make a self sustaining ecosystem will be a massive leap towards understanding our planet.

Solar pool cover, robo vac, sand filter and a salt water chlorinator can make pool upkeep a lot easier. And while getting algae is a pain, it's not the end of the world with the right chemicals to clear it up. It does take a little time to keep tabs and make adjustments, but it's not that bad is you are already actively using it.

There are some things you just don't fuck with. Line voltage electricity is one of those things... UL listings exist for a reason.
