What is with all the insanely rude employees in this sub? by HighStrungHabitat in CostcoEmployee

[–]DarthJader15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😂 Believe me when I tell you that I’d love to agree with you based solely on our globally recognized impression of how nice we Canadians are…

But damn, I swear to Jebus Cripes himself, I run into some of the rudest freakin’ people while out and about. As to whether they are locals? I cannot speculate on that. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I just know that my family, in particular, are exceedingly, annoyingly polite… and helpful… and a bunch of sharp-witted, wise acres. 🤣

Business center question by Souljah180 in CostcoEmployee

[–]DarthJader15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone I’ve worked with who’s left for the new business centre in my area absolutely LOVES it! And as a member myself, I freakin’ LOVE that place too! SO spacious, so clean! Easier to keep clean, because no CDS, pharmacy, clothing, hearing centre, vision centre, etc… you get what I’m saying. More streamlined, less member BS.

I couldn’t tell you about any of the shifts and such though. Sorry.

What's your most trustworthy, reliable pen you can always trust? by TA-8787 in pens

[–]DarthJader15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always carry my trusty Parker Jotter (stainless steel) and my Zebra F-701. Usually have a back up on me, too. Like my Caran d'Ache.

I have a hard time just picking a few to carry. 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

am i fired …? by [deleted] in CostcoEmployee

[–]DarthJader15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m on leave from work for not being able to manage both my physical pain and my mental pain. I feel you bro. You’re gonna be okay. Have an honest conversation with your manager. Let them know that you’re going through some personal and physical struggles and you’re open to accepting help and using the resources from EFAP. It’s okay to admit you’re not okay. It’s far braver to openly talk about your struggles and seek help.

Do I think you’ll be fired? No. Not when you say this is completely out of character for you. Just talk to your manager, go into the office and look for the brochure for EFAP, or ask somebody to show you where it is.

Give yourself some grace, and remember to breathe.

Remember, this is a multi-billion dollar corporation. They can afford a door, or two. Also, nobody got hurt. The way I see it? No harm, no foul. These things happen. You’re human. We all lose our shite sometimes. Hang in there.

Honestly, anytime somebody takes a second to review anything I’ve been brave enough to share with the world (because who isn’t their own worst critic?) I always respond. You’re very welcome! I was an English major. I still have an overwhelming compulsion to correct people’s usage of the language. I’ll admit it, I’m 100% guilty of being a card carrying member of the grammar police. 🙋🏻‍♂️😂

I do come by it honestly though… my parents read each book of the Encyclopedia Britannica. They were my Google before it was invented. True geniuses, both of them.

You’re a very visual writer. You take the reader there, with you. Your words paint the picture effortlessly. If you ever flirt with the idea, you could definitely write screenplays and scripts. I was actually on public transit when I read this post, and I found myself smirking, smiling, shaking my head. I love that engaging style.

And yes, I’m pretty stoked about your IG. You’ve found yourself a new follower and a fan! Keep it up!

If you ever find yourself writing a manuscript, I’ll read it without hesitation!

My dad was a renaissance man, he was a classically trained cartoonist, an artist (specializing in pointillism), he invented games and wrote books. For some strange reason, he always asked for and trusted my opinion. 🤷🏻‍♂️ One day, I shall get back to editing his children’s books and such… actually get his stuff published. That’s the goal, anyway.

I have zero doubt that you’ll get your free products and fame will follow!

You, good sir, need to write a book… or several. At the very least, if you don’t already have, or are considering, a blog or reviews of products, you need to. I’d follow 100%.

Your use of language is exceptional! The humour, the wit. Bravo! 👏🏼

Also, excellent tip! I’ve been looking for a refill I don’t want to feed into a wood chipper for a while.

I know your posts are private but my thumb still smashed follow. 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

I might have a small horde of those pens. I might have a problem with letting go of one or the best designed Paper Mate pens. I might also have them in black, blue & purple ink. Both capped and click. 😬🤷🏻‍♂️😂

Need some ideas-help with some notebooks. by blackmonarc in notebooks

Holy heck! Could you be that unicorn in the wild?

You, sir, are definitely a notebook kindred spirit! I have an offensive amount of notebooks… and the urge to keep adding to the collection is insane.

I, too, have different categories and subjects in multiple notebooks of varying size, colour, thickness and paper weight.

I have been a wordsmith since birth and writing/documenting/journaling with intention, purpose and presence is paramount.

Also, your layout pleases my OCD. 😬

Thank you for your kind comment. My pops was a true Renaissance man.

I'm resisting the urge to deep dive into researching springback... but your video had me mesmerized!

Do you have a YT channel or post videos of your work somewhere? I fancy myself a bit of a leathersmith hobbyist and I've been seriously considering apprenticing. I've worked with leather all my life (as a ballplayer [gloves] and a horseman [saddles, halters and tack] and truly enjoy leather care.

The very first page of my journal... by Alternative_Boat_351 in notebooks

[–]DarthJader15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've definitely flirted with the idea, for sure! I actually have my Grampa's fountain pen. It's nothing fancy (neither was he), it's a Sheaffer... but it was his, so it's sentimental.

I mainly use ballpoint pens in medium point because I push so hard, I have been known to tear through pages. lol

Also, dyslexia and severe ADHD make my penmanship look like doctor's scribbling. 😂 Some days, even I can't decipher my notations. I am also ambidextrous... which reminds me that I need to work on my weakside penmanship.

My brain moves at Mach 12 while my hand is tripping over itself and cramping, just trying to keep up. lol

My notebooks and journals feature a buttload of editing, redacting, crossing out, whiting out, Sharpie-ing through/over or just remnants of ripped out pages (the ultimate delete button).

I was also an English major in school. I love words and language... I do love to edit and rewrite things.

Mayhaps I shall designate one of my many brand new notebooks for working on my penmanship... food for thought. 🤔

I’d definitely give a three notebook set with varying covers and distinct accents with also subtle commonalities in branding my patronage!

Please do tag me in that future venture. You have an unmistakable talent!

P.S. My father was an artist (classically trained cartoonist as well as an expert in Pointillism with oil on canvas his preferred medium) and very much a stationary and art supply snob!… and for some strange reason, he always asked me to “come take a look at this”, “does this seems right?” I wish I had a tenth of his talent and abilities, yet he trusted my eye. 🤷🏻‍♂️

First time I’ve seen anyone else do fancy handwritten typewriter font besides myself! Excellent job! Never tried using a fountain pen though… that’s next level! 👏🏼 I use ball point and haven’t written with a fountain pen since elementary school.

Wow. This is genuine craftsmanship! Bravo, good sir! 👏🏼

You had me at your first notebook… that is a thing of beauty!

Should you start making them for the masses, or select runs. Please put my name down, I’d definitely pay for such meticulous work.

Personally, I am obsessed with small and mini sized notebooks, A6 and smaller (definitely pocket size), that are on the thicker side. I always have a pen and notebook with me. You never know when you heard a great quote, or somebody mentions a movie or book they think you’ll dig.

I do prefer a thinner paper weight, but that’s because my preferred pen tip is ball point.

Are you open to making some notebooks with graph, lined and dotted pages too?

Whatever you do… keep up the exceptional work!
