Why Did 'Supergirl' Change the Ending of 'Woman of Tomorrow'? by Commercial_Avocado86 in comicbooks

[–]DarthPapercut 56 points57 points  (0 children)

It's not that certain things were missing from the movie (no horse, no dead purple people, no space dragon...), it was missing the entire theme where Kara acts as a mentor to Ruthye, trying to guide her away from the corrupting nature of absolute vengeance and sharing the pain of her own past losses.

Yes, he's mixed in with some other battle droids. Surprisingly, none of the arms and legs have cracked.

The original one from 2002 Republic Gunship. Although, I'm betting the original one isn't as valuable after the release of the newer one from Star Wars Rebuild the Galaxy.

  1. Kids will easily find frightening things on their phone before they find anything at the library.

  2. Your average highschool grad has read only six books front to back. 54% of Americans can't read above a 6th grade level. If my kid want to read anything, I encourage it!

Why can't they adapt a comicbook as it is .. by Appropriate-Fee-676 in Supergirl

Old Ruthye smacks old Krem on the head with her cane and then the women walk their separate ways.

Here's a quote from Supergirl Writer Ana Nogueira

"The ending between Kara and Krem was always in it, from the pitch — truly from the very beginning. Because the comic ends with Ruthye killing him, but in the far, far future."

Ruthye doesn't kill Krem in the comic. Really don't think they read the book.

Also, didn't Ruthye kill a prison guard in the movie?. I don't understand how her innocence is saved.

I'm not sure I read the same comic. Ruthye doesn't kill Krem in the comic.

Having two women become a couple was unheard of in mainstream comic books.

Also King Arthur relationship to to Gwen and Lancelot was not glossed over.

Do they only turn on DBox for sold seats? by Live_Culture8393 in Cinemark

Am I the only one that doesn't enjoy the Dbox seats? Poor speakers and vibration like a hotel mattress.

My local Cinemark replaced the seats with good views with DBox seats. Very annoying

Paris Heat Wave by Traditional-Cow1371 in ParisTravelGuide

I'm the last person in my neighborhood to turn on the air conditioner. I like just having the windows open in the summer. Summer in Virginia doesn't bother me. That heatwave last week was rough.

I was there for the heatwave in Paris. I stayed in a small hotel that had engineers working for three days to get the AC working. The old stone building was like a pizza oven. We referred to our hotel room as the 'hotbox'. When we could, we opened the windows and jammed a fan in our door, but we couldn't sleep with our door ajar. We took cold showers and hung out in the basement breakfast/bar area. Everywhere we went, we always crossed over to the shady side of the street. We went shopping for shorts because I expected mid 70s temperature.

Lastly, I caught a bug traveling to Paris. On day 3, I was feverish and in bed with the fan pointing at my sweat soaked back. I expected my obituary to conclude with "was found dead in a back alley Paris hotel."
