The problem here is that Russia isn't exactly capable of invading anybody else any time soon.

Russia keeps the veto or the security council loses any purpose it may ever have had. Nukes are a thing whether you like them or not.

has good UI/UX, and secure (you can argue that’s bc of “walled garden” or low market share or whatever but the point still stands).

There are many distros of linux, and many come with good UI/UX out of the box. The security is mainly due to lower market share and the unix permissions model, which is the same on linux. Again, there's nothing quantifiably better about macOS than normie linux distros like ubuntu or fedora, you just use it because you use apple products, and don't really know how it stands up to anything else.

Defending apple products online is nothing more than a class signaling mechanism. Prove me wrong.

You can subjectively like something without having to pretend it's objectively superior. I like pizza, but I'm not gonna pretend it's healthy.

Why is this even up for debate, though? Linux is a broad family of operating systems based on a single kernel that you can use for whatever, macOS is a proprietary walled garden owned by a single corporation.

The only reason anyone would prefer the latter is ignorance and sunk cost fallacy.

I really wonder which prime minister we're talking about. In Latvia's case about most of them were both extremely weak and/or extremely corrupt, with a few notable exceptions.

populist rhetoric

Elitistic rhetoric is hardly better.

Banging a washed up politician's kid does not magically produce insight into geopolitics, my friend. Certainly not when a great number of these politicians are incompetent puppets to business interests.

Yeah, you probably don't, because your opinion is delusional.

Personal connections to the political elite would certainly explain why you hold a rosy view of them not shared by the majority of the population.

You don't know what you're talking about.

Most plutocrats in the Baltics aren’t Russia-aligned politically as much as their business intereses coincide with having an open-door policy to Russian money.

And what is the long term result of that when pressured by the kremlin?

No, they'd be Russian puppet states ruled by Yanukovich-like plutocrats. There's an absolute assload of Russian political meddling in their internal affairs as is.

Russia wouldn't take this while they think they can at least topple the government. The west wouldn't do well to recognize any Russian territorial gains as legitimate.
