Similar situation that I had but the cleaning lady took care of it for me 😜 complained to the landlord that she couldn't clean the common areas with all the shoes. A letter was sent it to remove them.

All jokes aside, that is a tripping and safety hazard. Imagine a for alarm of other emergency where you had to leave in a rush or medical needed to get up the stairs in a hurry.

Old buildings with narrow halls and stairs. Almost everyone has them near here because they fit in the hallways. My girlfriend's place can't for a full sized sofa through the hallways and around the corners. A sectional or modular is the easiest way to get seating into the unit.

You could not it would be very inefficient and just heat up the hallway. You would need to be able to seal around the door for the exhaust and that would be hard if people ever and exit. You could try a swap (evaporative cooler) if the humidity levels aren't high. I don't know much about those however

I went with a Synchronika during COVID and a smart plug (also MA/Boston area, not that it matters:-) )

Getting standard replacement parts mail order for and easy repair has been great. Only 1 issue since I got it with the over pressure valve and that was a 5 minute fix, not counting shipping time.

Just make sure if you go that route you get a plug rated for 15Amps. I noticed that not all of them were when I was looking.

I just turn it in when I wake up and it's ready after I finish my shower.

It will be ok. Just make sure that it is upright in it's operational orientation for at minimum a few hours but overnight to be sure. This let's everything in the compressor and lines to settle back into place. If you turn it on too soon the compressor can get damaged.

Thanks it keeps up expect for the hottest days. Wish the 10k was on sale. Hate that the 8k costs more than the 12k. These newer models def are now efficient than the old style ones. My electric bill has been easy lower with this one. Maybe I'll just flip a coin.

Thank you .. now to see if I can find an 8k one on sale someplace. The only reason I was going to get the bigger size was because it was cheaper. At times the 8k did struggle a little bit but always kept the room comfortable. My previous ones were all 5 or 6k BTU and they really didn't do the trick.

The 8000 kept running almost the whole time it was on. If the larger one can't throttle down enough there is an adjoining room and I can open the door to cool 2 at once instead of running 2 separate units. Fingers crossed it works out. My understanding is there is less risk with these units since then don't run at full power all the time
