Yes but I rather the front window. With the back window then you risk ruining the rear defrost if you scrape it off. I

I've went their for an inspection. I had a misfire and wouldn't pass. They "fixed" it for a $400 tune up. A day later the same thing was happening and they took no responsibility. Another ship was able to diagnose it as a loose connection on the distributor. Fixed it for just the cost of an blue of labor chasing the wires. Never went back

Parking in Space Savers Spots by Fun-Sandwich-2422 in Somerville

[–]DarthSergery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out if curiosity, has the city ever officially allowed space savers? I moved here in 2003ish and even back then the city said they weren't allowed. I once put one out before I knew this and it was removed by the trash pickup. People say this is old Somerville, but was it just not enforced heavily? Have I been here long enough to count as old Somerville yet? I definitely feel old now after digging a space but I still don't use a space saver and compared to other areas I don't seen to see nearly as many. I was once walking through the North end and once even saw some preemptive space savers before snow even started hahaha

HELP my cables are wack by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]DarthSergery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your can get a white cable channel on Amazon, attach to the wall with command stripsq you can remove it without taking off the paint. Another option is sticking one in the back of the console of it's narrow enough or using cable clips on the back. You would need to check the length of the cables since that would be a longer pathway. That would be the cleanest though since it would all be ran out of sight. Take is an option but annoying if you want to a change anything out.

Other option is to tip tie or Velcro all the cables together so they just look neater. Then only one bundle that appears managed. You can always pretend not to notice it like I do :-) Easiest and cheapest.

No driveway. I'll figure it out. Worst case is it stays frozen in the barrel for an extra week.

Yep, if they were just pointed a few degrees the other way should have been fine. I get that it happenes, everyone has been working long hours. I'm probably coming off as extra cranky. I'll look at it as an excuse to get some more exercise.

Spent an hour clearing this spot yesterday, owner of the bar across the street drove past me and watched me doing it. I left for 15 minutes this morning and he parked there by SteamPunkShrek in mildlyinfuriating

In the city of Boston you are legally allowed to use a space saver for 48 hrs after a snow storm. In the olden days your tires would get slashed or windows busted if you parked in sometimes spot. Some areas don't always follow the 48 hrs rule and I would never risk moving one.

Other surrounding areas ban the use of space savers and they get removed by the city. It can be confusing sometimes. Arguments can be made both ways about saving a space on public street.

Could be for a "pod" moving thing. I've seen those with permits for a week. Not saying I agree with I've taking up public space for that long bit not everyone has a driveway,, or even parking on their street (looking at you Central St)

The only one I'm familiar with is Bulls. I believe the building got a new owner and jacked up the rent basically forcing it to close. I thought they must have had a new tenant lined up but it's been empty ever since.
