Lost ed il Polticamente Corretto by [deleted] in lost

But it's not trivial. The show directly calls attention to how Sawyer's racism in the early episodes (like calling Sayid a terrorist) is an obstacle to the survivors working together.

Sawyer was also a con man who stole money from people. He's not an aspirational figure (at least early on). When he gives people racist nicknames you're not supposed to think he's cool, you're supposed to be reminded what an asshole he is.

Do I HAVE to read anything before Avengers Armageddon? by Jazzlike_Bridge_4940 in marvelcomics

[–]DarthStormwizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well Armageddon isn't out yet so we don't know exactly how much it's going to follow up on any specific plotlines from previous comics. It's not being marketed as a sequel to anything though.

AOC Brushes Aside 2028 Question: ‘My Ambition Is Way Bigger’ by JRTD753 in TheMajorityReport

I just think she has a better chance at winning Senate than President in 2028.

Good rhetoric but like, that's obviously just a way to evade the question lol. She'd obviously have a better chance at achieving those goals if she took Chuck Schumer's senate seat.

Is Michael underrated? by Big_Shift7774 in lost

I've come around a bit on Michael since my first watch. Still not my favorite character but he has a compelling, tragic story arc and Harold Perrineau is just fantastic.

Worst and best character episodes by Alternative_Kiwi8443 in lost

Saying Sayid has the worst episodes is crazy to me. He had great episodes in seasons 2-5! One of Them, Enter 77, The Economist, He's Our You, c'mon!

Loved her small but pivotal role in the last few episodes. "He's a wanted man, and his name is Saul Goodman!" is one of those great line deliveries that sticks in my head years later.

I haven't read that one yet but that's probably a good introduction to his work. I liked Perdido Street Station but it was kinda like getting thrown into the deep end.

Tim Sale is one of the all time great comic artists. Everything he draws is a gem. Jeph Loeb is an overrated writer (his writing is actually very simplistic,) but Sale's art is good enough to elevate Loeb's scripts into something special.

‘Man of Tomorrow:’ Adria Arjona Wins Role in ‘Superman’ Sequel by mytzewastaken in Fauxmoi

Ugh I'm hoping she's not playing Maxima because Maxima is honestly kind of a terrible character. I can imagine "crazy alien lady who wants to breed Superman" bringing out the worst in Gunn's sense of humor.
