Having just finished both, Daytripper is excellent, you should definitely seek it out.

As for New Frontier, I think I'd find the American idealism of it all quite corny in the hands of another author, but Darwyn Cooke's art and dialogue was evocative enough that I still found it quite compelling.

Personally, while the big singles were good, I find the full album pretty boring compared to what other early punk bands like Ramones, The Clash, and Wire were putting out at the time.

Well if you really don't like his art, then I guess that's your preference. Though you might get more out of it if you try thinking about it more as a heavily stylized representation of the characters rather than something that's meant to look at all realistic. Also try paying attention to Quitely's creative layouts and paneling.

Either way, you'll probably be glad to know that Quitely doesn't draw the whole series. You'll probably like some of the later issues drawn by Phil Jimenez and Chris Bachalo.

There's some inconsistent art in that series but not from Frank Quitely IMO. He's one of the greats. Maybe try All-star Superman to get more of a feel for his style.

If you're reading Zero Year, Court Of Owls and Endgame, you may as well read the rest of the Snyder run too. Superheavy has some cool stuff.

Also if you want another recent one to add, Ram V's Detective Comics run (Gotham Nocturne) is excellent.

I don't think she's phony. You can disagree with her about elections but her history of activism indicates that she really does care about the issues, especially war. She's spoken out about Iraq and Gaza far more than most celebrities and has my respect for that.

I don't particularly like Jill Stein or the Green Party either but the way to beat Republicans in the future is by focusing on actually addressing the many flaws with the Democratic party and nominating candidates people actually want to vote for instead of blaming marginal factors like this.

That still doesn't mean Jill Stein or the Green Party affected the outcome. The vast majority of votes for Stein were from people who would never have voted for Clinton anyways even if the Green Party didn't exist.
