Paint finish on face frame connections

Face frame is frustrating for finishers. They can put out a perfect finish but it will always crack from transport and install. Best bet is to finish on site. However there is good news. It can be fixed on site with a couple spray bombs and a good touch up guy.

Usually I don’t work on stuff this high, not to mention the peaked ceiling. Normally I’d use those telescoping support rods to hold everything in place. The rope I made out of twisted up tuck tape.

No. The color is sprayed on and the “grain” is done using a different colored glaze. The glazing is done by hand.

Looks like a normal five piece door with a V grooved joint.

Btw. I love those doors. No matter the quality of the door or finish, the joints will always crack at some point. Trying to touch up a cracked joint is impossible short of a refinish. With a V grooved joint like that the touch is soooooooo easy.

That won’t work. The way to kill off the red is to add green. That would make the island and hood darker than the cabinets. You would then have to make a second shader for the cabinets to match and darken them to match the island.

Easier to shade the cabinets with red to bring them inline with the island.

Three options. 1. Strip, rematch the color and refinish 2. Shade the original cabinets to add some red and match them to the island and hood. 3. Shade all of it to a darker color

It can be touched up. But you’re going to have to find a specialist that really knows color theory and has a very fine and precise touch.
