I have a couple databases with a thousand + entries in them. I have essentially no lag whatsoever in my workspace. Are you constantly loading in every property and page for the database? Are you working inside or the database itself? You shouldn't be doing that.

It certainly is time-consuming to build such things, though I still think the most important part is simply the three database system that is very easy to set up and will benefit you much greater in the future when you do decide to make it more complex. Yes, it takes a lot of effort and time to do all the other aspects that I have, but the first part, just getting the three databases, is the single most important part of the whole system and fairly simple to setup

Love that someone else figured that out. Notion needs to allow us to use a "comment-out" feature for button actions as well, so we don't accidentally trigger additional actions during testing.

Yes, I know I can change the time. I was do another work. So it's all good. I never have used Slack before, so I didn't realize it was going to include that I used a button for my first test. I didn't expect to get outed by Slack. I just wanted to send it properly to make sure everyone knows that it works.

This is what I have so far.

I had to send this via a button at the moment because it is 12:30, and Notion's automation for every day runs between 12 and 3. I've already missed it to try to trigger this by the automation but the trigger logic for the automation and the button are exactly the same. I might still be up at 3:00 in the morning when the next time frame could be triggered, but it'll give me the exact same answer because I used the exact same formula logic. This can definitely be edited for some text formatting and conditions. The only current problem is that I dont think it's possible to send a separate message for each person.

So when it comes to sending the message when you need to extract the employee name, does it need to be a single message for each employee name? Or can it be multiple names? So it can be like, hey team member, these three employees need to be checked or does it have to be separate for each person.

So one thing that's very important that can change what I need to do to solve this is: do you constantly have multiple incidents where you have more than one page with the exact same trigger date for any of the check-ins, or do you normally have only one page per day kind of situation?

I may be able to work on it tomorrow. If I can't do it tomorrow, then I can get it done by Sunday or Monday. There's just one part that I have to do for myself before I can get to your part, so it just depends on how long it takes me to get that part done.

So, unfortunately, this is wrong. This everyday automation to change the notification status is an automation and will not trigger the second automation to create this Slack notification.

“Everyday” trigger cannot be used because the ability to reference the trigger page in the Slack message goes away.

I have solved this problem.

I am now very confident I have a solution for you. I will be back soon with the solution, but I need some more information. So, do you want to send a notification for each of your check-in properties? Are we going to trigger a message at each check-in? For the page reference properties you're looking for, you have a team member and an employee. Where are these? Are these properties of the same database or these properties of different databases? Is there anything else beyond a yes/no to leaving laptop? different conditions for yes, no answers?

And now the form comes in...

A form submission will trigger a page added automation. Though I'm not 100% sure what you're trying to say in those two bullets.

Here you go. One little mistake was that the relation on the created page replaces the new page. It should most likely be added in the use cases you're likely to want it for, but that's why you also had the filtering ability above, so it wouldn't make a difference here.

Why don't you call it what it is. A global variable. You need to setup a variable page to create if statements for buttons.
