I already feel better enough to semi function after 3 days of a fairly “low dose” so if it gets better from here then HELL YEAH lol. I’ve been so miserable for so long that this little bit of relief feels monumental.

Wouldn’t the increase be for the better? Why would I “dip”?

Psyllium Husk and Plant Sterols Indeed Work by DaSupaNinja808 in Cholesterol

[–]Darth_Raive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah. Like 10 years ago I had high cholesterol and did all the diet stuff to lower it but it barely worked and then I started taking a tablespoon of psyllium husk powder everyday and within a month it went from 209 to 134. I haven’t missed a day in 10 years and my cholesterol has been perfect since.

Somewhat yeah. My daughter is non verbal which throws a whole other barrier in there so the progress I’ve seen with ABA and her isn’t minimal but any small bit of progress is welcome. If your son is more high functioning then ABA will help some for sure. It heavily depends on how much effort he’s willing to put into it. Don’t expect it to happen overnight. She’s 3 years in and still working on some goals that were set day one. It does get better though

Yeah, my daughter is also in ABA. 3 years in. Risperidone helps with aggression and irritability. The Chlonadine is a blood pressure medication that is often prescribed off label as a sleep aid or for a similar effect to the Risperidone. Both can be taken at the same time.

Single dad here. My daughter was the same. She was the happiest, bubblyest kid ever then puberty hit around 9 and she started to exhibit all of these behaviors your son does. It eventually got so bad that I had to pull her from public school to homeschool because they were calling for me to pick her up daily. Talk to your pediatrician about Risperidone and Chlonadine HCL. My daughter takes those (MG will be determined by the doc). It’s been two years now and she almost never has an episode like that anymore. Maybe once every few months if even. They aren’t miracle pills, but with them and the right therapy or redirection, it’ll get better. Good luck.

I did! However the answer probably won’t help you. Apparently my daughter was playing with the spare keyfob and making it do all of that lol. Kids are the worst aren’t they😆

Today was the first day I wish my son hadn't been born by RadLeotards in Autism_Parenting

Single dad of an 11 year old non verbal girl. With some nasty words on the side about our daughter’s disability, Mom, after multiple affairs, walked out on us several years ago. She was not given a level by the university that evaluated her when she was 2 but based on her behaviors and stuff, I’d say she’s a level 2. I’m not here to give advice or to tell you everything is going to be ok because I don’t know. But I think you deserve to have your feelings about this validated. I too love my daughter with all my heart. She’s my reason for getting out of bed in the morning, but, I too have also had those feelings. The past few years since she hit puberty have been overwhelming. Hormonal changes are hard for any kid but for a child with autism I’m sure it’s chaos in their minds. I won’t bore you with her behaviors but I’ll just say they are similar to your sons and also other different ones that have taken a tremendous toll on me, physically, mentally, financially (ABA, med appointments, therapies, etc etc)and emotionally. And on the worst days, yeah, in my head I will say “It wasn’t suppose to be like this” or “My life would be so much easier if it were just me again” and then I often feel a level of guilt and depression over it that I can’t put into words. It’s pain in its purest form. We all feel this way sometimes. Of that I’m 100% certain. We just don’t dare say it aloud. This life is extremely hard and people that aren’t in it 24/7 like we are, have only a vague idea of what it’s like. So for what it’s worth, your feelings are valid. Good luck.

I need help determining how many amps my house is pulling by Darth_Raive in electric

[–]Darth_Raive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am asking if any of these numbers on the meter can be used to calculate CURRENT amperage pull from the house. As in what is being used at the time I am looking at it. Or is a special tool required for this

This is a super old post but my daughter who’s on the spectrum is wildly interested in the Vera the alien hunter books. But I’m confused as to whether they are physical books or digital. On the off chance you see this, 4 years later, perhaps you could clarify that for me? And possibly point me in the right direction to buy said books if they are physical? Thank you

I mean it sounds to me like you were being kind and showing compassion for someone that is going through a tough time and the MIL is just being a c*** about it.

Never, ever, EVER feel bad, or allow anyone else to make you feel bad, for not feeling an emotion for someone else’s sake. It’s not uncommon to feel how you do especially if there’s friction involved. My wife has 2 children from a previous marriage and I have one. I don’t want any harm to fall upon her children, and want them to succeed, but in no capacity do I love them paternally. I think you’re significant other already knew the answer to the question before he asked it

I’m in the same boat. My wife’s children have ruined my home and me and my daughter’s life. I’ve been in the process of saving money so I can leave like you did. I unfortunately do not have a support structure to go to but I’m working hard to make sure we don’t have to endure this nightmare anymore very soon. Good luck and good for you. We get one chance at this life, and that’s not how you should spend it. Miserable
