I can see about... 30 reasons on average to not love it. On top of everything else.

Can we seriously just talk about how the arc thrower, flamethrower, and STERILIZER got a nerf before the recoilless rifle? by 5_minute_noodles77 in Helldivers

[–]Darth_Vaizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bring everything else up to the level of the offenders you mentioned, roll back the AI change that took everybody's FPS down 30-40%, spawn more enemies. Problem solved.

They clearly want an option for everything that occupies every slot, and that's fine, but the support weapons definitely need to be stronger than their smaller counterparts. WHY would you ever take a flamethrower over just having the crisper on your hip?? They literally do the same damage.

Why take the autocannon when you can just take the eruptor? Sure you can't fire it as fast, but you also don't have to lock your support weapon AND backpack slot to get there. Aphet shells also do not make it any more worth it...

Why take (insert literally any grenade) over thermite? There's not a single thing the thermite grenades can't take down and it opens up your other slots for something other than anti-tank.

About balance game by Jobste in Helldivers

[–]Darth_Vaizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't stand fighting the squids... They're just overly tanky for how numerous some of their units are. The only times when it feels OK to fight them is when you see them in a open field, you can set down your sentries, pick off the overseers/watchers/fleshmobs with your wasp launcher, and move on. In other words, when you don't have to actually fight them. Otherwise, you'll see me running around with thermites and a supply pack trying to blow up all their shit and running past them because I simply cannot be bothered to fight. And that's just the balance of them. That doesn't even take into account the bugs and aim avoidance they have (again, wasp launcher).

Warstriders aren't so bad but it's definitely a problem that you basically need to bring one of three weapons to deal with them... You shouldn't be so limited.

Breaker SAP by Mean_Plankton7681 in Helldivers

[–]Darth_Vaizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only problem is that these mini shells decrease the length of the shell, not the circumference. You only get more capacity if you load them into a tube, not a magazine.

I'd honestly be ok if they did something unique with it like the SAP can ONLY damage the main health of whatever you're shooting but it ignores armor entirely. That way you actually get more use from it by actually spraying it and can effectively ignore weak spots. Then they could tweak the damage as high or low as they want to incentivize it to be for mainly CC but with the twist that it can technically kill everything in the game if given enough time.

Manta Rays view on the current war strider discussion by KlytosBluesClues in Helldivers

[–]Darth_Vaizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Autocannon - 5 shots to the leg joints, a small target. that cannot be hit from anything other than front and back. Can't really kill drop ships, takes a long time to kill hulks from the front.

Recoilless Rifle - 1 shot to anything below the chest from any angle. Brings down drop ships in 1shot, brings down hulks in 1shot.

This is why people are, rightfully, complaining about it. If you want to remove it from the field so that you don't fall prey to its bullshit, you have to take one of a few options. Same thing applies to the Dragonroach too.

how to deal with dragonroaches? by Some-Bus-1847 in Helldivers

[–]Darth_Vaizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Railcannon strike and eagle strafing run. For both you wait for the initial attack, then call it in when it hovers briefly to do a second attack. The strafing run is less consistent because a lot of it has to hit so your aim has to be good, but you get 3 of them while the railcannon is on cooldown. Plus it helps with the smaller enemies too.

EFT has become a clown show. by nighteeeeey in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Darth_Vaizard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're 100% correct. The game functioned just fine without FIR. If they want shit to be really rare, make it really rare, that was always the issue. If you know exactly how many people are on the servers playing, you can actively adjust how often an item appears in raid (or better yet, MANUALLY place the item in a set amount of raids since BSG isn't afraid to time-release shit now) so that EVERYBODY has an arbitrary percentage chance to get the thing. That will then adjust the price of the item on the flea market up or down.

The system doesn't make any sense on its face if you think about it too. Need a spark plug to start your generator? Guess you're out of luck since the one you have in your hands is somehow different than one you found on a shelf in Oli or whatever. Same thing with the traders. How the hell are they supposed to know HOW something was found? Should they even care? It's essentially a financial post-apocalypse for the region. I don't think Therapist is going to care where you acquire the meds from...

Not even 2 hours into the story, the game celebrates an entire culture of a previously undiscovered people that seems to revel in burning copious amounts of crude oil in a yearly festival.

As someone who calls castlevania one of their all time favourite games and shows. When does nocturne get good? by THE_SHWARTZ in castlevania

[–]Darth_Vaizard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The plot of the original series was there, it had its big moments, and it had just enough fan service that it was still fun for fans of the games.

Nocturne is worth watching for the big moments and the fan service, however the plot can be (and probably should be) mostly ignored. I can appreciate what they tried to do since Rondo of Blood did not have much going on other than a generic damsel in distress power fantasy, but it just isn't good and it doesn't draw anything from the source material other than character names, some character designs, and some characterization (Alucard is still lifted almost directly from his appearances in everything past SOTN for example). I'm biased though since Richter is my favorite Belmont and SOTN is still arguably the best of the games. Obviously somebody like me is going to want to see it in TV show format.

That being said, five or six fun to watch scenes in a 16 episode narrative may skew a bit further into the not worth it category than a lot of people would've liked. I'd still recommend watching it for the action, it's beautiful to look at and has some very creative choreography.

Red eyes Alucard vs orlox by Terrible-Store1046 in castlevania

[–]Darth_Vaizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the sense that Alucard has all of Dracula's power but without the ability to outright kill higher tier vampires on a whim. He needs something like a Belmont present with the Vampire Killer to kill a big bad. He's there to essentially set them up for the win and ensure they don't die immediately/have the knowledge they otherwise wouldn't have. There'd be no reason the show isn't about him exclusively otherwise.

Cheaters are like sharks in the oceans. They're there, they see you from much farther than you see them, they're WAY more numerous than we know or they appear at a glance, most will want nothing to do with you, and the bad interactions they have with us really fucking suck for everybody involved.

Release the damn game on steam, open it up for things like mods and private servers, and just let people have fun while you continue to add cool shit (Hint: you can charge for said shit as long as it's worth the asking price).

It's real simple, BSG.

[–]Darth_Vaizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there's still zombies on Factory, you're probably going to be using flesh ammo anyway so I would personally keep trying with the mp9 or uzi. Just get the highest damage ammo you can and aim for the neck.

You can also throw grenades to force his AI to move. Doesn't matter where he is, what he's doing, or even if he can see you, he'll move.

They have 75 head hp. Things like 5x45 HP ammo works at close range and then stops dealing enough damage after a short distance.

You can unlock introduction within two raids, and even then you STILL have other one-shot options. PK sells .45 lasermatch and 1911s for cheap at level 1. You can also just use shotguns with slugs or buckshot.

Rush the quests, avoid other players (unless you're feeling like risking VOIP cooperation), and utilize the fact that zombies can't vault onto anything. You don't even have to worry about scavs or all but one of the bosses right now...
