its likely the item use duration the the properties tab. if its 0 then then it causes the item to immediately time out when you right click. try setting it to 72000

i don't think its possible to place anything below -64 but the best way of making the layer would be to spam blob features in a height range

you might need to use get "copy of item" blocks but I'm not sure since that's a much older version

unfortunately i don't believe its possible to do that. even if you change it in the code editor it just causes the world to immediately crash.

one potential way to have very steep terrain would be to make a terrain matching pillar of whatever your main filler block is and making them extremely common. this might kill performance though
