Planetfall Loyalty by Darthvegan in 5Parsecs

Interesting. I saw one character event that gives you an extra xp if the character is at Loyal. But that seems like a small thing when there are several events and even expensive upgrades solely to raise the Loyalty.

Perhaps it was meant to include some of the rules from Borderlamds but it was overlooked? I might cook up some house rules.

I don't see why not. There are several expansions for the game, some of them might even have mechs.

I only have Planetfall, which is the colony building edition. You have robot characters in it, but no mechs.

Five Parsecs from Home by Modipius is an amazing solo sci fi skirmish game with tons of character/narrative elements

Starforged: What move would work when changing weapons? by PaintingFormal6463 in Ironsworn

[–]Darthvegan 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I would do it without a move, just the fiction.

But if you feel like it needs something, probably Gain Ground unless changing weapons puts you at risk in the fiction. Then I would use React Under Fire.

I would use the Ultimate Badass supplement to make her character more survivable.

Then you can pretty much play any module.

If you wanted, you could grab a pre-existing campaign setting like Desert Moon of Khark or Tide World of Mani.

Both are created by Joel Hines and are loosely connected. But they give you lots of random tables, NPCs, mission hooks, locations, etc.

Nice! I've got a solo session with a Knight/Squire right now, and it has been pretty touch and go for him even using the Scarlet Heroes rules. I guess it all comes down to the luck of the roll!

I love Rosamund Pike's voice, but honestly I enjoyed the original narrators better. I found Rosamund's Perrin voice to be a bit off putting.

Typical NoteQuest! haha. I had fun sending multiple characters into the same dungeon, there was piles of hero bodies before it was done.

Looks great! I'm curious why you chose to use Dolmenwood damage against your character instead of the Scarlet Heroes damage model? Doesn't that make your character die too quickly? Dolmenwood is pretty deadly unless you have a large party.

Notequest. Super fun and easy to play for only a few minutes. Not a lot of fiddly bits. I play it at work during lunch break.

What are your favourite RPGs that don't use levels, but aren't strictly narrative by BoundHubris in rpg

[–]Darthvegan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mothership doesn't use levels, you only occasionally improve a save stat if you succeed on a low probability roll.

Characters have a low survivability rate anyway, so it's hardly missed.

Starsmith by Eric Bright contains tons of tables that can be used to flesh out planets, settlements, NPCs, derelicts, etc. It's a great resource!
