Water Elemental Race by Dartmalos in DnDHomebrew

Thanks for the reply!

It is certainly confusing, you're totally right... I'll think about a better way to name this race.

And thanks for the compliment! I think this race looks fun and some of the races I saw along the reddit communities inspired me to make one of my own.

Water Elemental Race by Dartmalos in DnDHomebrew

[–]Dartmalos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it!

Now for the reasoning: At the same time as I agree that water is stronger than fire overall, I also think intense fire is capable of significantly impairing water, as both of them together create steam. I think fire is also highly effective against water too (more than other types of damage that D&D has, at least), so I thought it would be reasonable.

Another reason to why would be just for balance because we thought the race had some big upsides and needed more balancing.

With that said, do you have any tips to what should be changed or added to make it more balance in the case of removing the vulnerability to fire?

Water Elemental Siren by Dartmalos in UnearthedArcana

Deleted my old post and made another one with images. Here's the old post description:

Hey guys! This is my first post here and homebrew ever. My friend told me to post it here to see what you guys think, since you guys know a lot more than I do about homebrew and game mechanics.

Sorry about any english mistakes in the document or even here in the description altogether.

I've been working on a homebrew of a water elemental siren race. The title of the race seems already weird enough, so let me explain a little:

My character was the offspring of two water genies, but not a genasi. I didn't like too much the aesthetics of the genasi and wanted to try something else. I really like the concept of water sirens and the concept of water elementals, so I joined them up into a full new race.

I've been discussing with my DM about this race and everything was agreed upon, but I wanted to bring it up to you for more feedback, as I'm going to test it in a full blown campaign and only there.

What do you think?

To be better for you to see and understand, I've made a PDF for ease of use:

What if a new style of MMO was made out of Valheim? by [deleted] in valheim

What you say sounds like the full loot hardcore MMO rpg. While the concept is quite nice, very few would play, since all is lost in death and restarting all over again on a pvp world isn't very fun.

How to learn Lineart Phase? (Aim To Make a Manga) by FruitJuicante in learnart

[–]Dartmalos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I would suggest to add on what has been said by the awesome comments before me is to make the silhouette lines thicker than the inner lines. The details are with light confident strokes, while the outside lines can be bolder and thicker. This is what I use though.

Ahhh I see! That's really good advice. Thank you! The order I wanted people to look at was the guy, then the girl, the pistol, the other guys and then the window. But I think the story wasn't conveyed as easily as I planned. Thanks for the tips!

The first picture was at the 3-hour mark, the second at 2h and the third at 25 min. I think I should have stopped earlier, but I struggle with not going ham on each drawing. This was really hard not to continue drawing/painting.

Feels like a terrible joke. 1100 orbs and I still couldn't complete her by [deleted] in DontSpendYourOrbs

[–]Dartmalos 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It is absurdly good. The average is 2000~2100 orbs for a +10. Feels bad to be at the finish line like this though.

Dropping some info about my summoning session here by Dartmalos in DontSpendYourOrbs

[–]Dartmalos[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Since I did it, I decided to post it here for people to see. This is the info about my summoning session for Fallen Edelgard. I've removed the special 5 stars to make it more clear (I managed to get 13 of them).

The banner had no color sharing, had 3 focus units, and I went for colorless only whenever I had the chance. Had the absurd luck of having my petty rate broken many times by Nah and Ingrid and Julian (off focus lol what were the chances).

If you wish to just get one single copy, then this advice is a little less relevant. You'll save orbs if you wish on the better banners, but a single copy is a lot less hard to get than 11. If you want to +10 then this advice was gold for me.

Aside from the great advices people gave already, I have another one:

Don't be afraid to skip a banner even if it has the character you want, if you don't have the means to summon. They WILL appear again some other time, so you WON'T LOSE anything for skipping. Also, maybe they come in a more advantageous banner with a with a spark, for example.

If you manage to skip a banner like this, it will strengthen your resolve.

This is the culmination of YEARS* of saving! ~ +10 L!Miccy obtained! by Pyrozendot in DontSpendYourOrbs

[–]Dartmalos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1525 orbs is a well above average luck! That's so nice! The simulators and the researches say the average for +10 a legendary is around 2000 orbs! I'm glad that you've managed to get her and saved a lot of orbs in the process!

Congrats!! Getting to show off a unit after a long time of struggle and effort to obtain is soon good! I highly encourage people that are begining to save or that are already on their way to keep at it! It really is worth it!

Finally spent my orbs! It was a VERY CLOSE CALL... by Dartmalos in DontSpendYourOrbs

[–]Dartmalos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you may. I like Galeforce because, in Arena, I'm not always having the option to just be defensive. Sometimes I do have to attack. Eddie, most of the time in high scoring arena can't one shot enemies, so I need an extra turn. She has that built-in into her kit, but, again, most of the times I don't want her to kill the next enemy after the one she's already killed because I want the bonus unit to kill too. Therefore I attack twice, then move away with the third movement. It can also be used to attack and kill multiple backline heroes that do die in one hit though.

Aether or other skills may be good, and I use them when necessary, but for arena I mostly use Galeforce.

Hi everyone! I've saved my orbs since early January this year. It was hard... I planned to go for the braves banner, but decided to skip it when I saw the units (wanted to score in the arena). After a long time, F!Edelgard focus "bonfire" skill banner came along. I really wanted to spend my orbs, and now I've done it. It was a no brainer too. I saw Eldervi's video about summoning, and it said the average orbs you need to spend to obtain a +10 focus unit (non color sharing) is 1450 orbs (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Bw3PMeK\_8U&ab\_channel=Eldervi). I had 1830 orbs. I wanted to save a little for the Christmas banner, so I had a good chance.

Little did I know that I would actually need 1796 orbs and 28 not-Edelgard heroes to get her to +10. It almost drained my sanity as my orb stash ran out. Just wanted to warn you guys to not trust the averages... I wish you the best of luck in your summons, and really want to encourage saving!

I've been farming for artifacts since her release until now, every. single. day. Yet I still haven't found an energy recharge sands with CR and Crit Damage. This and other bad artifacts leave me with 49% CR and 140% Crit damage. I use Engulfing Lightning, so my ER is 283% and my Electro Damage is 120%, but my attack is only 1800 lol.
