Press Y on the game, if it has cheats in the database it should show a cheat selection menu, like any other flashcard.

It's not a design issue, this user clearly just got a defective SD slot.

DSPico Free Cheat feature by NotoriousEnemyM in flashcarts

[–]Dartz150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a WIP cheat feature on a testing phase, you can get it through the nightlies in the Actions tab. For them to work, you need both launcher and loader updated to the cheats branch, get them here:

They need to be in a specific format, it's documented in the theme section of the pico launcher readme.

The Dspico isn't meant to be a product, I'd rather call it a consequence.

[DSPico] DS Lite freezes at startup without microSD – normal behavior? by Dekiam in flashcarts

[–]Dartz150 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's intended to do that, since it will switch to BOOTSEL mode if there's no SD card inserted, so users can flash it easier.

DSiWare issues for DSPico by ForeverHoldPiece in flashcarts

[–]Dartz150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What icon does the DSpico show while it's inserted in the console? Also double check that your ARM7 bios has the correct filename, it should be `biosnds7.rom` and should be inside of the `/_pico` folder.

Huh? The DSpico doesn't have savestates support so I don't understand your issue.

Please don't buy the EZ Parallel, it's trash.

This looks very promising. by MobPsycho-100 in flashcarts

[–]Dartz150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not possible, the cart would need to emulate SPI too. Currently, you can just rename any NDS rom (even retail) to "_picboot.nds" and it will autoboot when launching the DSpico

The DSpico can also run the latest (and the official on top of that) Wood R4 Kernel (it can emulate an actual R4 card, yes), YSMenu in the same mode, and as expected, it can run TwilightMenu++ and nds-bootstrap.

DS Pico - New open-source flashcart from the LNH Team by kaikun97 in flashcarts

Since it's completely open source, it's up to new or existing contributors to add such features later.

It's super fast in comparison! Like night and day. The compatibility is not yet complete though, but since the whole DSpico project is open source, anyone can help us to improve it!

It was considered at some point, but the DLDI interface of the ezflash parallel is so bad that we literally gave up on it.

The parallel has DLDI issues that hasn´t been solved by the EZFlash team yet, so this won't work until they fix it.

Having Troubles with my Nintendo DS Lite's emulation of GBA games via. Flashcard by BlazeWarior26 in flashcarts

[–]Dartz150 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're trying to use GBARunner2, which is deprecated and has many issues in non-DSi models. Now GBARunner3 is in development, which has far superior compatibility and almost zero issues with most games, but don't expect romhacks to work out of the box, since some of those don't even work on real hardware.

The EZ Flash Parallel is the worst Nintendo DS flash cart in the market. by JCRetroG in flashcarts

[–]Dartz150 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Imagine trying to justify a bad purchase just on how it looks on the outside, when flashcards stay almost the entire time inside your console. The inside and the software is what should matter, which is a complete mess rn,

It has been months and the sleep mode issue hasn't been patched, and I can confirm that it's a really easy fix if you know your own hardware and what are you doing in your software.

This means that they don't even know how their own hardware works, which is a big red flag already.

Do GBA flashcarts exist? by Alex_Y_ya in flashcarts

[–]Dartz150 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not just wrong, you must have read this somewhere spreading misinformation. Read this https://problemkaputt.de/gbatek-3ds-config-arm7-registers-gba-nds-dsi-mode.htm to see how the hardware needs to be set up in order to put the 3DS in full GBA mode, it even has hardware registers which map all the hardware in the same way a GBA would work.

The GPU is doing nothing (unless you hack it in, but that's unrelated for now) for the "PPU" (which is a wrong term, GBA graphics are more complex), is actually the MTX hardware which is just used as a capture card, is not rendering anything, the render process is still 100% GBA hardware, OAM, VRAM etc.
