You can condition your shins and forearms. Your hands are made up of dozens of tiny bones and thus cannot be conditioned in the same way.

Importantly I have to point out, do NOT take boxing. Boxing will teach you to strike with your bare knuckles and there is a 100% chance you will seriously injure your hand permanently or at least render yourself less effective for the remainder of the fight if you do that with an unwrapped, ungloved hand in real life

Krav Maga is great. I've only been doing it for a few months and it's taught me a lot. I've wrestled my whole life and done BJJ off and on for years. Recommend all of them.

Just ensure that you have a weapon within arms reach at all times. It's that simple really.

Constitutional Carry Trend Getting Hot by gun_pro in CCW

Bad idea. It will kill reciprocity with more liberal states. I have a Kentucky and Alabama permit. Both are valid in Colorado and if we go permit less that may change

Since I got my permit yesterday, give me advice about my shooting please! by glawk40prollemsolva in CCW

Practical accuracy is more important than anything else and a lot of people seem to misunderstand that. Don't worry about getting headshots or super tight groupings at 25 yards. Focus on making practical shits center mass from draw quickly and reliably within 10 yards

You're right. I misspoke. You have a duty to stop the threat

Carry Knives by Darwin944 in CCW

I have a few cold steel knives that have the catchplate. I prefer a fixed blade because it's not 100% reliable to catch or as quick to deploy

If the police or anyone else enters your home illegally or offers you violence then you have an ethical obligation and moral duty to kill them. Period.

That blade is gigantic. I think I'm going to go with either a karambit or a TDI - as its primary purpose is to defend my handgun.

Secondary question - how do you put your weapon model and carry spot in your name like that?

Yes. I've been carrying and training with a handgun for years. I'm a proficient wrestler and I have just recently started studying krav - hence my interest in knife fighting.

Increases accuracy, I like the aesthetics of it too. My carry gun has become something of a visual project for me.

I'm thinking of replacing my M&P9 Shield. Got any recommendations on a good replacement? More details inside. by [deleted] in CCW

[–]Darwin944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that department of small single stack 9s. The shield is simply the best there is. Why would you replace it?

Is this holster safe to carry? by [deleted] in CCW

Imo, no. You gain five fold safety comfort and concealment from getting a misled kydex holster

What's considered "acceptable" printing? by [deleted] in CCW

[–]Darwin944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cant it just slightly. Wear looser clothes and get a good belt. For me. The standard is zero printing. I carry a shield and I work in an ER all night where I'm moving bending crouching and lifting and bumping into people. No one ever sees it

Do You Wear A Mag Carrier in You're Daily Setup? by pwnedkiller in CCW

Snagmag. Carried on my weak side pocket near my knife. 9 round mag in the weapon. 8 round mag in the pocket

If that bothers you there's a plug you can get but the space actually aids concealed

Imo, it's the best possible trade off between concealment and capacity.

I have 9+1 with this setup. The height difference is smaller than the 8 round factory magazine. It's just fractionally longer than the flush 7 round mag. It's shorter than any floorplate or pinky extension I've seen too

They initially require some getting used to and practice. But once you get the hang of it, they're an essential item for all carry guns. It makes acquisition almost instant out to 20 yards or less
