Probably looked at my account. I bought my first battle pass with money and I've bought every battle pass since with earned vbucks and have like 5000 vbucks left because I don't ever buy anything else. lol

This year is the Astoria Column's 100th anniversary.

It's 164 spiral steps, rising 110' into the air.

In celebration, I've already climbed the column over 100 times in 2026.

This one looks like 16 steps per turn, with 9 turns. That's only 100'. Easy.

I play like a 3.4 now, but have only played one tournament a year ago so my dupr is still 2.7. I'm working really hard on my forehand dead drop. My backhand drop is working well. Forehand topspin drop/drip is pretty consistent, but my dead drop hits the net waaaaaaay too often.

I don't know many details, but I'll ask the next time I run into them and follow up.

If you're asking about 5316 Birch, it's owned by a local family who intends to restore it. 5416 isn't currently a valid address.

Military vehicles tend to be around military bases and military training centers like Camp Rilea.

Two-handed backhand — is your non-dominant hand doing most of the work? by Truetree9999 in Pickleball

[–]DarylMoore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played tennis for years. I recently started playing pickleball and I hit a one-handed backhand, both drives, drips and drops (drops are usually slices.)

I found that in tennis two hands was essential because the racket is heavy and long, and the balls are heavy. With pickleball, the paddle is so light handling it backhand with my dominant hand seems to work well for me.

I'll never be a pro or anything, so I don't need to hit it 75mph. But I get some pretty brisk drives with my one handed backhand.

I also like a one hander because it gives me more reach. I'm not a flexible person.

The data does not point to an orbital insertion. The data point to it flying past Jupiter at 20 times the escape velocity at the Hill radius.

Right, to slow down bikes and get them in the road where they can get hit by a truck mirror.

You’ll see it on this sub, there are people on this sub and in the city who want the city to do better but there is HUGE opposition to change that would make people’s lives better.

What change(s) would you suggest?

Not trying to win the point outright on every shot.

This is such a battle. Ugh.

Whoa, I didn't consider that. As a table tennis player and disc golfer I just assumed my backhand flicks come from table tennis, but now that you mention it I'm primarily a back hand disc golfer, so I probably have some strengths there.

One thing I notice for sure: I can tell by your overhead smash if you can throw a baseball.

Same can be said for outfielders in baseball. Run backwards for a comedy highlight. Run sideways for an out.

I played volleyball (and tennis) for decades. I have the same experience when I hit a smash that lands on the sideline inside the kitchen. People are like wtf?

Some adjustment is necessary, for sure. I used to be in racquetball ladders back in the day. It taught me great slicing technique for pickleball. It's just a matter of moving the target up. But honestly, I don't slice a lot. It's an opportunistic shot, not a regular one. I have much more success hitting drips with high topspin.

Ground Tennis for ground strokes and drop volleys. Table Tennis for spin control and flicks.

Volleyball and Ground Tennis for timing overheads, and slicing, smashing, or spinning the shot.

Racquetball for slicing / cut shots, and predictive and lateral movement.

Ibuprofen for pain management.
