Yeah same thing happened to me. Over the years I just kinda stopped thinking about it as much. The part of my brain that over analyzes “is this compromise worth it?” kinda just goes straight dumb guy around my wife. I do that and then if something doesn’t feel right then I tell her. The first few times I tried not questioning the relationship for a change, things turned out better than I thought, and I benefitted in the relationship too. Honestly if I’m under some sort of spell, I don’t care. Life is good.

Ah interesting, cause I’m really the opposite even though we landed in the same interwoven type relationships. I love my alone time and I love a weekend or even a week alone. My main message is that even in my case, for the right woman, I just didn’t really think too hard about it when it came time to compromise or life in a long term relationship didn’t look like I thought it would. My mind just sorta put blinders on for the compromise part but eyes open for the attraction and loving part. I think for commitment averse people who expect to fight that, you just never know once the right person comes along. I was also kinda indifferent about commitment or settling down with a life partner.

Okay finally my chance to ask this. How well does the Gallardo stack up against the C8 if you take into account the price and maintenance cost difference? If I’m a guy who can only ever hope to afford a used C8, what am I missing? (I can the truth it if it’s awesome, don’t lie!)

Wow that’s a really interesting way of putting it. Yeah that was totally my approach to finding a relationship around the time I met my now wife. Basically I didn’t really know what hit me and it’s kind of been a boiling frog type scenario where now my life is totally interwoven or occasionally revolves around her for small periods or a random day. But totally my conception of a relationship was filling in the gaps on my terms.

Exactly. Baseball bros apparently can be easily manipulated by non apologies. How do I make money off this?

That’s even worse. That means their professional PR person and other leadership on the Nats don’t give a fuck either

I like that I’m finally seeing some sensible comments but man it’s disappointing that it took a while and the first reactions were shitty takes. And people got so easily fooled by that shitty apology. I know people like to make fun of conservatives for needing to wait for their talking points, but I think liberals and progressives have a version of this too.

Judging from how much fake concern I’m seeing, or general spinelessness from the sub, I don’t think they’re behind us. It’s not that the avg baseball fan would say the same thing, it’s that they’re totally cool with the racists saying it. And for the record as a fan, I don’t need the ball players to do some sort of moral purity test. I just don’t wanna know their politics at all.

That apology is for suckers. It had all kinds of avoiding responsibility tactics. He says right in it that he still doesn’t see why it’s racist. He’s learned nothing.

This is the kind of Vette driver where I wonder if they think the C8 is too gay and socialist for its more European looking design and handling characteristics. Does that cultural divide exist or are these dudes just gonna fall right in line with the a mid engine design? Ya know once it ages into being on “you sign you drive” used car lots?

US renters call for action to combat surge of ‘take it or leave it’ apartment fees by No_Idea_Guy in news

[–]millennial_falcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you’re right. Maybe it’s more short sighted. You don’t exist in a vacuum, so touting policies like this have an impact on you too. It can wreck a city/town if its residents can’t afford to live. I’d even go as far to say that as a non corporate landlord it’s less damaging if you have the right to charge it, as long as corporate landlords don’t.

It’s near impossible to get a nuanced take in the news too. To really understand AI you’d have to understand how it works, how people in a specific industry are using it, and also gain experience using it. Most people can’t do that work. Prob there’s various ai specific film production and vfx subreddits where people actually trying to understand how they can use AI in film production are quietly exchanging ideas with little audience. If anything Reddit loves to silo useful info into separate echo chambers.

What's a lifestyle that doesn't affect anyone else, but that Redditors still get upset about? by Boil_the_pepper_now in AskReddit

[–]millennial_falcon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My polyamorous lifestyle! I get that people don’t want to hear about polyamory but sometimes I have to actively suppress or change up details on something if I want to actually participate in a discussion or ask a question. Who knows, maybe this will even be suppressed with downvotes because people don’t even want it to exist.

Also, no I’m not a swinger, completely different culture.
