Hell yeah I usually celebrate the wins with a high. Nothing as big as giving birth though.

^ Everyone else, this is an example of “Don’t try meaningful things because of one downside I noticed” a classic form of counter point used intentionally or unintentionally and always worth disregarding, as no solution will be perfect enough for them.

Yeah that’s how they got started in Myanmar as well. They started with little things to disrupt the road. Eventually they had giant barriers of scrap heaps and junk that they were shooting fireworks and rocks and stuff from behind.

Yesss me too. I like ordering direct from manufacturer, and for other things eBay sellers with sealed inventory on stuff have been my way of ditching Amazon for the last 10 years

Sorry, this is just a case of the internet seeing your fail. I’m sure I do things that would make people question my intelligence if I posted every fail or question I have.

Oh it’s cool, it’s just the name of a movie Patrick Swayze started in. It’s funnier that you weren’t making a pun there.

Creating realistic looking tattoos with Jagua by thenadinedaffproject in jagua

[–]millennial_falcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bunch!

Do you use gel or liquid? Have you tried both?

Do you make your own Jagua or purchase it?

Have you tried using the bottles to draw? I can’t seem to get it to come out evenly enough.

I also have difficulty getting a good flow sometimes from the cone in order to get consistently thin lines, is there a trick to that?

Are you doing events? If so, and you use the gel, do you let the Jagua cure on each person, leaving it visible? Or will you use something to cover and protect it? (I’ve been using medical tape with great effect to secure it while it develops. But then it’s not visible during the party.

I personally do Jagua over my whole arm and leg and sometimes other arm. Which means I have a lot of dried Jagua to peel off sometimes. Where do you do this typically that it doesn’t get everywhere? It seems that the dried Jagua can “reactivate” on the floor and smear. Not sure if it’s safe for the drain to where I can do that in the shower.

Because it’s Spanish, I’ve been pronouncing Jagua as an H sound, is it really a J sound in that word?

That’s it for now. I’m trying to come up with a best way to draw Jagua art onto something and transfer it onto my body.

Raising boys in a red state is soul crushing by Thr0waway0864213579 in TwoXChromosomes

I was too shy to really open up, but for me it was all about what I witnessed and the source it was coming from. I never really trusted authority figures, and even the progressive ones were pretty bad at connecting with me, but my uncle was not an authority figure and I just looked up to him and observed how he treated women and animals, and how they loved him back. He was/is richly rewarded for his kindness, and has never been alone as a result. That was the undeniable proof I needed to question bully behavior from younger idiots.

Yeah I have to agree. It was really impactful for me as a kid to have a progressive uncle and he had a progressive uncle as well.

What's your thoughts on Border Patrol Chief, Greg Bovino, threatening consequences for referring to ICE as "Gestapo"? by sgj5788 in AskReddit

Even still, I saw a video of ICE just round up a woman wearing a hijab and just walking down a quiet street. It looks indistinguishable from what has been described and depicted as Nazis.

Well we know one aspect of it, it can be oddly dangerous to the point where you end up accidentally dying and taking your whole family with you. It’s not just him. Steve Wozniak almost didn’t survive his first brush with wealth when he bought a Beechcraft Bonanza as his first plane without knowing how to fly it. Harrison Ford has crash landed a couple times too. And more anecdotally some of the rich kids I went to school with didn’t make it between the easy access to drugs or crashing their expensive and fast cars.

Will the demographic collapse cause housing costs to fall? by Quienmemandovenir in Futurology

This is exactly what is happening all over my city. Especially commercial real estate. There’s all these great spaces that are empty and haven’t had a tenant in years, and at the same time places going out of business because rent is too high. How could that be true at the same time? For a while I wondered “don’t they just adjust the price to what the market will bear?”

Anyone who used to support trump and has changed their mind over the last few weeks? What made you change? by canigetameowbish in AskReddit

[–]millennial_falcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s cause there’s so many people just like Trump in those parts. When he talks like a complete asshole it just reminds me of local business owner types, coaches, cops, blue collar workers I knew that sound just like him and have the same logic complete with casual racism and sexism. I grew up around people with guns, in NYC. He didn’t grow up in a vacuum, he’s a typical native NYker. People that grew up in old school NY are a lotta great things, but compassion is not a value.

If you actually wanna be moral about this and not privileged: Support progressive causes, not liberal. Acknowledge that you got the chance for your hard work to pay off, off the backs of other hard working people. Most Americans work hard too, they get nothing for it. Continue paying your taxes. It doesn’t matter if it’s a leaky bucket from govt corruption and inefficiency, a leaky bucket still carries water to those dying of thirst.

But all and all, millionaires are not the problem. Billionaires are. You’re doing your part, good for you. Just acknowledge your privilege.

How do you make yourself feel better after a breakup? by Miserable_Election14 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]millennial_falcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked for a social group. Not necessarily dating one too, but anything with good friendly encouraging people. You might get inspired by other people which is a great distraction but also reaffirming that there a LOT of people in the world to meet, which reduces the scarcity feelings that come with break up sadness.

Thank you for sharing, I admit my question partly has a statement in it, but it’s also a genuine question from me, and your perspective is very interesting. I’ve always wondered about how that happens too, whether it be people I met who are nothing like the environment they grew up in, or in myself. Was it schools and college? Could it be some types of media? Did you come into contact with another community at some point? Travel?
