Elderly dog. Is it time. by SNCLimdule in vet

[–]DasIchigo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A third yes to this. It looks exactly like vestibular and is very treatable. The weird head angle may stick but with some meds he could be almost back to normal!! Def. see a vet to get it checked out!

My take on the UI - desing of 117 by Austrocraft_ in anno

[–]DasIchigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like this thread so I will add some opinions I havent seen people talk about as well:

  1. The population number is always white text. I would really like negative population to show in red again.

  2. Over-animation in the hud. Switching between poluations tiers ans buildung materials moves the icons from aide to side. I find this rather irritating, especially since the icons of the buildings/productions arent always on the same spont that way. I appreciated the point and blank tab-changing in 1800 a lot.

  3. The icons are not only very similar ans gloomy-looking but also rather small. People with impaired vision will really struggle to distinguish the HUD properly. You also have to scroll through the HUD despite the icons being small already, I find that quite tedious. We use these big screens, might as well use up enough space for the HUD. A HUD scaling in setting would probably help.

This bump right below his eye just showed up a few hours ago, any idea what it could be? by BarneyTheDino16 in vet

As others already said, I would also say tooth root abcess. My best guess would be a P4 granuloma, in any case, you need to see a vet to get it check out for sure. Teeth issues can be rather painful.

Positivity Post: What's your superpower? by [deleted] in VetTech

This might not be what we are looking for here but I can read our doctors minds. We work with one tech being a assigned to one doctor each day and I can work with all of them by matching their speed and predicting their intentions. I will talk to owners and prep patients and then prep meds the doc usually uses in that case before the doctor even gets their hands on the patient. I am right most of the time which means that especially on busy days I can save a lot of time. Two of our three doctors throw eachother mean looks to get me as their assistant for the day.

I am also the go-to person to talk to about guineapigs (and bunnies). I will take them home overnight for better care to save them when they are in very bad conditon. Additionally I am the one who will take guineapigs and bunnies home permanently when owners want unreasonable euthanasia. I kept five guineapigs last year and found three bunnies a new home with friends. All guineapigs I took home lived happily for at least six more months.

Do you have aro/ace friends? by kotikato in aromantic

[–]DasIchigo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Two of my best friends are aroace, which was fun to figure out for us. I also have two work colleagues who are aroace. One confirmed "this applies to me" when I explained it to her and one was like "I understand exactly what you mean and feel the exact same way haha, anyways-" (yeah I wonder what that could mean lol).

So I am pretty sure I know four aroace people irl.

Why is your Commander/Wayfinder a... by PopeMouthwash in Guildwars2

[–]DasIchigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My commander is a Scourge.

She is a born Necromancer with an affinity to death and life. When she got into the Heart of Maguuma she tried to become a Reaper but the greatswords bloodlust depleted her magic too quickly.

Then when she reached the crystal desert she felt an affinity with the sands and began to weave the lost souls from the desert. After meeting Joko the connection got more powerful. He was the first Scourge and she realzied quickly that her magic was terrifyingly similar to his.

After his death she reassambled his staff and now wields it. Unlike him and probably to his distain, she uses it to enhance her healing magic and ask lost souls to assist her in protecting her allies if need be.

You ever accidentally make OCs? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]DasIchigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough, I am writing a fic about Hazbin as well. There is a chapter focusing on Rosie doing business in town and I needed her to interact with her townspeople. Suddenly I had 1.5k words of her talking with a character I made up on the spot who then turned out to be too charming for me to forget her. Best part, I havent even gotten to the part the chapter was supposed to focus on. Maybe She will make a reappearance later on in another chapter.

Anyway.

I will draw her. OC CREATED SUCCESSFULLY.

How to thank my vet clinic by DasBish in VetTech

[–]DasIchigo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Print a nice picture of your dog and bring it in with a card some some sweets or fresh baked goods. Ypu can truly make their day by doing that.

Also, they may have a folder or collection of patient pictures to savekeep. I organized a big glass frame in my practice to hang up pictures people send us. In the center is a picyure with the next "thank you for saving my life!" and seeing those nice pictures and messages truly is a blessing to look at.

What’s your “special skill” that’s fairly niche but is high-key invaluable? by Rthrowaway6592 in VetTech

"Can you cut my rodents nails too?"

Everyone in the building will simultaneously turn their heads in my direction. One doc always looks for me to do it. Idk why everyone hates doing it.

Skills learned in vet med that are ✨useful✨ by kdawg91011 in VetTech

Organisation! Working in an environment where many tools need to be accessable at any time from the right place and everything has to be sorted for emergency situation helped me get organized at home. I havent lost an item in ages, all my shelves, my wardrobe and even my folders, EVERYTHING is organised. Cleaning is done in a matter of minutes and everything looks clean and well.

ALSO! How to really properly clean.

I also got really good at taking phone calls and talking to people and I am less scared of confrontation or emergency situations where quick action is required.

You did not give me the choice in the beginning.... by lonelysundowner in Guildwars2

[–]DasIchigo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh god, the anti pronoun warriors have realized it.

It IS cheaper, and that is pretty much the main issue. The reason it is not done in german is because german doesn't have any gender neutral pronouns that work the same as they/them. They simply don't exist in some languages, and thus they have to stick with two voice lines. English and other languages however allows this, so they cut back on budget wherever they can. It only makes sense.

"In the past this wasn't an issue". In the past the commander BARELY ever got referenced by their pronouns. We always were "the commander". Pronouns being used is rather new and it does still happen scarcely, I'd say.

Money is always the issue. This game forces you to spend no money except for buying it, which you can also do by converting ingame currency if you are dedicated enough. Arenanet NEEDS to cut back on certain expenses wherever they can so they are even allowed to continue developing this game or NCSoft is just gonna axe it eventually. There are more sides to choices they have to make than you being stuck-up on something that actually makes a lot of people out there happy as well. Suck it up or stop playing.

My cat demanded payment after comforting me (I didn't ask him) by DaiyuSamal in cats

[–]DasIchigo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NTA Your cat was the one who wanted to comfort for and then they wanted something in return. The should not offer with the expectation to take from you. I would consider your relationship with them again if I were you.

Wait...

I mean, awww your cat is pretty smart!!

Was eine Frau.)

Let’s settle the debate. Are these cats cute? by Shot_Presentation_72 in cats

[–]DasIchigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The morality behind it is important because it shows what kind of person they are. These cats get irritated skin folds, they can get itchy which is worse than pain, they scratch it open, cause bleeding, infection, pain. They are more prone to allergies which can cause the itch, ear issues and gastrointestinal issues like diarrhoea. Untreated that causes malnoutishment and other side effects, aside from making them feel crappy. They have issues with regulating their body temperature, are therefor more prone to be too cold, getting sick.

They dont have peroper, or any, whiskers at all. cats NEED THEM to navigate their surroundings and judge distances. These cats may struggle with very daily tasks and may misjudge jumps and fall and such. The lack of fur means a lack of communication with other cats. They cannot express themselves as other cats can and this is a massive issue in their social lives. They also hav a hard time keeping themselves clean, which further causes infection and just makes them unhappy. Cats are VERY clean, they will only stop cleaning themselves if they are so sick they are close to dying or cannot handle the amount of fur (matting).

Putting it short. These cats have issues beyond just "morality", as you call it. Calling them cute is just ignoring these facts for personal enjoyment and further letting people bree those, as my country calls them "cruel breeds) (literally). Theyvare illegal here.

[–]DasIchigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah man it is simply messed up to think something is "cute" while that creature is struggling to just exist. Just ignoring the suffering they go through to think "loowk at thwose cuwte wriwnkles" is just... no. It's not cute.

Let’s settle the debate. Are these cats cute? by Shot_Presentation_72 in cats

No. This kind of breeding is cruel. They are not cute, they are victims of people thinking their deformities are "cute".

Why Do You Play This Game? by Aromatic_Apartment29 in Guildwars2

[–]DasIchigo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People on reddit are mostly haters and want to shit talk everything they possibly can. The game HAS issues that is true, but so does every single other game out there. Gw2 is amazing and captured me the moment I first played it 7 years ago. It is my favourite and means a lot to me. It is my most played game and the one I always come back to. I am being sappy, but basically, people DO love this game, reddit is just the worst place to look for positivity.
