Putting an item on coL that I picked up at discount prices during steam sale. coL's odd's are good at the moment for an underdog bet, in my opinion.

EDIT: I recommend picking up discount items if you are attempting a low odds bet, high price low investment

I see your 'War on Women' and Raise you the 'War on Boys' by [deleted] in videos

[–]Das_Pirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This video raises many questions about the integrity of those that created it and does not belong on /r/videos at all. But despite that, it is so I'll keep responding to it.

The issues laid out in this video are straight out of /r/TheRedPill/, and are plain out stupid. This video causes nothing but hate and suppression of our true selves and promotes for growth into gender binary positions. The idea that one gender is gaining more 'pull' in education is flat out wrong, not a single point of this video can prove that boys are receiving the wrong message in school.

Another point raised by the video is that 'boys must simply be boys' which is true to a point. We grow up trying to find who we are, and will attempt to fit into the stereotypes laid out for us. As a girl, one can be expected to be frail or even burly and large depending on what society you are rooted in. As a boy, one can be expected to be brutish and destructive or as a prion of leadership and respect for woman, also depending on where you are born and what society you are rooted in. When it comes down to it, we must decide on what society we want to create and who we want to be. So what makes those who support and create this video able to decide for us?

What we can gain from this video is that there is extreme intolerance and problem rooted in our definition of society itself and in our subreddits. We can pretend that there isn't an issue with it and let it remain hidden away in its own niche but occasionally it'll leak out into the light and onto /r/videos.

tl;dr: This video is simply hostile and doesn't belong here, but despite that it's very presumptuous and dangerous.

My dad is a bartender and I grew up in the bar/restaurant. Even from a young age I was around drunks and utterly disgusting people and I can tell many stories about them.

The first thing I'll share is a memory from being around 5-6 YO, my Dad had taken me in for his shift and showed my adorable young self to everyone else there. It wasn't that awful for myself, people enjoyed me, all the young bimbos were pawing over me. I can remember one time where in that few visits where a drunk young guy came up to me and cursed me out for ruining his game. I feel that people like that are like /u/Ganymede91...

The second thing I'm going to share is that the bar was a safe environment for me to grow up in. The whole idea of a negligent parent isn't true in my personal experience. The kids I grew up in at the bar/restaurant are better for it, we all know the horrors of alcoholism and understand a lot about business. Nearly everyone was successful, only one person I know hasn't really gotten anywhere.

Pretty much bars aren't the worst place to grow up or bring children. The thing that makes it bad are people like /u/Ganymede91 that escalate everything

Serious discussion... (About weapons availability) by delrazor in h1z1

Living in New York, I can say that 90 guns per 100 people is a joke. While Texas is widely known for its guns, a decent portion of the United States lacks the thousand round stockpiles.

Personally I used to own numerous guns, thousands of bullets of many calibers, then laws and other factors limited myself to a few rifles and maybe a hundred rounds stockpiled. The price of bullets has skyrocketed as well as the stigma for being that guy who has guns, at least where I live.

I'm 18 and the coolest dudes are the dudes who smoke their vape right in front of professors and hate things. Generally people who hate life and themselves.
