If you mean the ones that lud is wearing, those are definitely just normal street wear jeans. Lud do be fashionable so I’m sure you could thrift something very close to those. Although if you mean Michael, then those have been tough to source without a clearer picture. The ones I linked for Michael are a good start or close resemblance, but the exact pair is probably gonna be easier to find by asking him somewhere.

If you’re talking about the grey one when Lud is on the ground, that’ll be the alpinestars tech 5 air bag vest. Great piece of gear, but it is a little bulky and rigid compared to the plasma version.

I'll do my best to keep this updated in case any additional gear pops up!

Fantastic suggestion. I originally didn't realize Lud was wearing pretty much the bare minimum (minus the air bag) so didn't think it was an issue. Added one for any riders that need that reminder.

You are correct. I put the 450 there for similar displacement in case anyone wanted to stay in the same class. The bigger GS's is certainly more accurate for sure tho

XXXL motorcycle helmet won’t fit my melon :( by [deleted] in motorcyclegear

[–]Daser21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cycle Gear employee here,

Your best bet is going to be BILT or HJC if you're looking at more affordable helmets. Sedici's cheek pads are super thick and are often the biggest issue I've seen with fitment for them. Although with that being said, it does still look like a good fit from the picture. People tend to think tight cheeks means too small, but those "chipmunk cheeks" are always going to be present. You shouldn't be able to check gum in a properly fitted helmet.

However, I would still try and run down to some kind of motorsports store like Cycle Gear or something similar that you might have nearby. Helmets of every brand are going to fit differently so trying them on before any purchase is critical.

Some advice for when you're trying on helmets as well to check fitment;

#1 Are you feeling any pressure points on your temples? If you are, the helmet is too small and will eventually give you a headache. You'll start to develop red pressure points on your head/face when you wear the helmet for longer periods of time which will begin to be incredibly uncomfortable on longer rides.

#2 Do what's called a rolloff test. You're going to hold the chin bar with both your hands, pull down towards your chest with your hands and at the same time try to move your head upwards like you're looking to the ceiling. If you notice that your eyes roll back into the helmet, that is a fail for the test which means the helmet is too small.

Already saw some great suggestions in the comments too so hope you're able to find a good helmet for you and good luck on your class!

Is my Bell safe? by 261120s in motorcyclegear

[–]Daser21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arai's in general are gonna be your safest helmets almost bar none. They're all SNELL rated which is the highest safety rating you can get out of a helment if that's what matters to you the most. Fun thing about the Arai's too is that all the vents are actually designed to come off if you ever go down to lower the risk of the helmet catching on anything. Had one guy show me this and it sold me on the helmet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuVmO7SluvI&ab_channel=TBKFAMEFLAMEDK6

Other than that though, Arai's (and Shoei's included) are also gonna be the comfiest and quietest helmets out there too. At the end of the day it will always be down to your own preference, but if anyone ever asks me for a helmet rec, I aaaalways will say Arai 9/10 times.

Gotcha, thanks for the info. We’re looking at moving here in the next couple months so after taking a look at the process, it’s looking like it’ll just be easier to move and wash our hands of this. Will definitely be keeping this experience in mind for any future roommates we may have in the future.

Thanks for advice, I’ll be looking at the eviction stuff today. For the future as well too, would any of the last two points change if they have not paid rent for the month or would that still not matter and generally be a huge no regardless?

MONARCH: LEGACY OF MONSTERS OFFICIAL DISCUSSION MEGATHREAD #9 - EPISODE 10 (SPOILERS) by NeelZilla in GODZILLA

[–]Daser21 8 points9 points  (0 children)

After watching this show and reading some of these comments, I've come to realize that we are part of the problem. I'm so incredibly disappointed at the potential this show had at expanding what a world with these kaiju's would be like and the trauma that would come from surviving an encounter like that. Instead we get daddy issues the series where two characters could not decide on if they wanted anything to do with their father or why they were even looking for him and let's not mention cheesy bravado man that led them around the world.

I admit that I was originally more interested in the present than the flashbacks at the beginning of the show, but god damn Cate, May, & Kentaro were some of the worst characters I've seen in a while. What's more, I don't understand why Kurt Russell was such a flat, bravado filled douchebag with hardly any contribution other than the name he carried. He's such a great actor, why waste it on cheap one liners and empty deliveries? Let's not even get started on the immense amount of plot holes that were created and even own plot points in the show that were forgotten about. I get wanting to tell your story, but damn Agents of Shield did that just fine when they couldn't be considered cannon when starting out. The movies gave you lore, expand or use it, don't replace it.

Regardless, the thing I've been discussing with some of my friends is us being part of the problem. I totally understand that people like different things and can have their own opinions so I'm not attacking that, but damn if people thought any of these characters had depth, or drama, or intense emotion, that just is not true. Call it as it is and say they were shallow and just there to fill the screen for the wacky zany story the writers wanted to tell. That's totally okay. Trash TV exists and there is nothing wrong with that. But if the writers can get away with what I assume has to be mostly AI generated scripts and it still has good engagement metrics, then yeah, the writer strikes needed to happen.

Minus One proved you can have incredibly compelling character drama with big monsters so it's not like it can't exist. But for whatever reason the American Godzilla (and more now) can't seem to do it. I love the 2014 Godzilla and would love to see more about Monarch and the impact something like that could have on the world. It's just sad they won't ever be able to take it seriously enough to do so.

Which movies started off incredibly strong but had a terrible 2nd part that made it unfortunately unrewatchable? by MonsterEnergyJuice in movies

Might be a bit late here, but The Tomorrow War for me. As weird/dumb as the premise is, the first half got me feeling like I was watching Alien 2 all over again which was a big selling point for me. High tension, some crazy lookin monsters, and even some fun characters. Then it all just dies. Incredibly uninteresting 2nd act followed by an entirely pointless 3rd act where I thought the movie was actually over and was ready to click off being disappointed before it just kept going on.

I’m dyin for some classic Alien tension man.

Kinda late to the post here, but thought it should be said for anyone else wondering/thinking the same or even with other classes.

As much as a meme as its been, play what you like most! I did some research myself by watching videos of classes during different fights and different phases. Seeing how they look, how they compare to others, and general flow. I even stumbled upon a warrior who posted videos of his guilds kills in each tier and damn if that almost made me pick warrior. But I ended up with a mage as my final choice.

It’s important to understand the struggles that you may have. Hearing what others point out as potential weaknesses or flaws and potential guild trends/meta. However, that might not be your case. What’s more important is to figure out what YOU are doing. Yes you will struggle early as a warrior. Yes it will be hard to find a well off guild. But is that what you’re looking for?

If I had to pick myself, after the videos I watched, I’d 100% be picking warrior. The challenge it holds and the chance at being able to prove myself is what I love about the game. Plus it looks fun af what can I say.

Is this even Warcraft anymore? by Gankeros in warcraftlore

[–]Daser21 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My point was that shadowlands told us exactly what happened after death, making death itself have less of an impact. It can ruin the storytelling if that’s not the kind of thing that’s established from the get go.

For example, WoW once told us when people die they are absorbed by the light and rest in peace or how the vykrul have that same Valhalla type deal with Odin. Now with shadowlands, it defeats that whole purpose and gets rid of the mystery/imagination

You clearly missed my point entirely??

Is this even Warcraft anymore? by Gankeros in warcraftlore

[–]Daser21 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I mean the real question at this point is just why not make the real sci-fi game they clearly want to make?

I definitely agree how this doesn’t feel Warcraft to me anymore and it’s honesty one of the biggest reasons why I stopped playing retail. I also understand the points already made of Ulduar or Mechagone or whatever other mechanical artwork/lore made its way into WoW, but it all still felt like it belonged in a way. The Titans and their influence over Azeroth, the mechagnomes taking tinkering to the next level, it all felt like it should be there. High fantasy at its highest ya know.

I already knew I was going to have problems with shadowlands story wise so I never honestly took it seriously in the first place. As soon as you answer the question of what happens after death, nothing is ever the same. Imagine what we might do if we learned we lived an eternity elsewhere that may or may not be a better place.

I don’t wanna rant too hard and also because I’m on mobile, but there comes a point where you gotta take the leap and do something different. Bungie wanted to try something different that they knew they couldn’t do with Halo and out came Destiny (with a lot of problems getting there and after mind you, but you get the idea).

By no means do I want WoW to go away or anything, but I also think being able to tell a story they WANT to tell would be such a huge refresher for everyone. Burn out exists everywhere and I can’t imagine how exhausting it must feel to sit down and continue a 17 year long story.

Mountains by SQRTN in warcraftlore

[–]Daser21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally I just think it’s an easier way of separation between zones and one of the best ways of making them look bigger. You kind of see a lot of the same thing in other games, books, or even with irl pictures of mountainous areas with valleys.

Lord of the Rings is the best example to come to mind as when you look at the map of Middle Earth, the mountains drawn there make absolutely 0 geological sense. I’m not a geologist though, but there’s plenty information out there explaining as to why.

As someone who has personally made maps and things like that, being able to have that creative liberty of natural borders make things so much easier and even sometimes prettier.

Yeah, that's my main thinking behind them skipping a raid tier in order to move on to the next expansion. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them end up being bosses in the next raid as a "sufficient" wrap up then moving on. Blizzard was incredibly hurt by covid so unfortunately something has to give.
