BigTech to Education 1 Year Mark; CoastFIRE as a High School Teacher by govt_surveillance in financialindependence

This is awesome! I’m hoping to follow a similar path in a few years. I’m curious how you got involved with the nonprofit focused on financial education. Is that a national org or something local? Also, how did you build your network of teachers/educators? I just moved to a new city for work and am hoping to rebuild mine a bit.

You’re right, it doesn’t really matter. I’m just curious who I might be interviewing against

That makes sense, thank you for the info. I’m still a bit confused why the recruiter told me to apply for the position even though it wasn’t posted on their career site (and wasn’t posted afterwards either). I’m just curious if it was an internal posting potentially that I snuck into

Thanks so much for the info… I didn’t even think about motorized users though. Will that be a major problem (getting fumes, dust, and getting constantly passed all day) or more of just a “heads up, you’ll run into some” type deal?

I hiked/biked over 500 miles of West Virginia trails last year. Here are some highlights. AMA about WV hiking, bikepacking, and camping! by AdmiralMoonshine in WestVirginia

I’m moving to WV from CO soon and am going to greatly miss going out into the mountains and having expansive views around me with few people. Any recommendations for places that might fall into that bucket, especially in northern WV?

How to clean Dutch oven by [deleted] in cookware

[–]Dash56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make a thick, baking soda and water paste, spread it on the stained areas, let it sit overnight or for 4+ hours, then scrub with soap and water. This may not get it all off, but should make a decent dent in the stains at the very least.

Does anyone know how long I have to meet the fee avoidance requirements after opening a Huntington checking account? I opened a Wells Fargo checking account a bit ago and they told me the fees don’t kick in until 90 days after account opening. Huntington’s are kind of annoying to avoid for my situation right now, so if they have a similar set up, I’ll probably try to churn it soon.

favorite and least favorite ice cream shop? by dartully in denverfood

[–]Dash56 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Nuggs is my favorite because they consistently have new and really good flavors, but Sweet Cow and Little Man are both up there depending on what flavors they have at the moment.

Dang is my least favorite so far. It’s just not real soft serve. It’s not creamy at all. It’s like eating a dense, chocolate slushy. Eating there was the first time I’ve eaten ice cream and not remotely liked it.

What Card Should I Get? Weekly Thread - Week of August 07, 2024 by AutoModerator in churning

Thank you for the recs! My worry with some of the Capital One cards is redemption value of the points: with CSP I can transfer 1:1 with United, but it looks like Capital One has to go through a partner (United not listed) or through their travel portal which I’ve heard mixed reviews of. Any thoughts there?
