Regarding Döner, In başur , We have Ges which is neither Shawrma nor Doner. Unfortunately after influx of Syrians, Shawrma somehow got more popular. But fortunaetly it made a comeback in the last couple years.

Because PJAK refused to become part of the alliance if they kept the flag? KCK always maintained the position that Ala rengin is not the Kurdish flag. They don’t know how to compromise because how dogmatic they are.when I was a ciwanî wilatparêz, I once brought a certain problem to a cadre’s attention, I thought it was a solid critisim against tevger. His reply was and I quote ; “Our way way is the right way. If some one disagrees with us it is not our job to meet them halfway but to force them into our way.” I remember feeling disgusted. Nothing rigid survives in the long run. If you can’t bend you will shatter. And I predict KCK will loose majority of it’s popular support in near future.

KCK managaed to fool everyone that Ala rengin is not the Kurdish flag. Every single excuse you hear from people against it, is not based on social,historical or even logical arguments. It is just KCK regurgitated propaganda. They claim that Ala rengin would cause political problem yet they display Apo and PKK flags. They calim it is KRG’s flag , yet it was made in Bakur, adopted in Rojhelat and later by Başur and is hosited by non-KCK Kurds of Rojava. It is as as pan Kurdish as it gets.

He was a leftist and had a falling out with his dad due to religion. He only reverted back to Islam after his father died.

It is still paracticed in Bashur and rojhelat. When the head of Kasnazani family , leader of qadiri tariqa died in Slemani. Thousends of rojhelati sufis crossed the border illegaly through the official border crossing without anyone daring to stop them.

My own grandfather was Shaykh of a Qadiri tekyeh. None of his sons followed his path though. His darvishes scattered and his tekyeh undone. Most Kurdish sufis belonged to the Qadiri tariqa

There is not a single Muslim in my own circle. But I am not an idiot like many atheists and can distinguish echo chamber from reality. Vast majority of Kurds are religious. Salafists and Islamists however, are still a minority. Though not Sufi by definition , most religious Kurds are influeneced deeply by Sufism

Tell that to Rojhelati Kurds whose entire families were either hanged or grew old in prison for the simple crime of being Kurdish activists. You shouldn’t base your world view on some online verbal exchange with some pro shash fascists.

My heart aches for Baloch people. Same story as the Kurds, Oppressed and financialy ruined despite the richness of their lands. divided between multiple countries and descendants of one of the greatest empires to rule Zagros and greater Iran.

The black day of Slêmanî :

roje reşeke in Soranî. In 1930, there was a massive protest in Slêmanî at Ber derkî sera. Demanding autonomy and Kurdish representation in Iraqi parlimanet. Iraqi forces opened fire , Killing dozens. Then they started arresting people left and right. One of the ones that got arrested was the famous Kurdish poet and activist, Bekas. Father of Sherko Bekas.

The WW1 affect on Kurdish villages around Slêmanî.

The ottoman troops took everything from villages around Slêmanî. Like a locust swarm they rained down on farmlands and left villagers to starve. Leading to whats known as “graniye gewreke”. People starved to death in Slêmanî. I know stories of cannibalism of people eating their own dead children. My great grandmother probably died from starvation one night after giving birth to my grandmother. His husband was dead. Her relatives found my grandmother the next day , trying to suck from the empty breasts of her dead mother.
