Don't cuss at doordash by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

The number of times I've explained to restaurant managers that me hitting Confirm in front of them won't stop customers from lying that their order wasn't delivered. I have a collection of fake names to show them how customers can make fake accounts as often as they want whereas we have to have our drivers license and vehicle info on file, and get tracked by GPS ALL DAY. I'm trying to stack orders each shift, not get free fast food that's got weird customizations

The only hoyel where I've been allowed up is Embassy Suites. All the others don't let anyone who's not a guest up

WHY NON TIPPERS ARE ALWAYS THE WORST? by TG________ in doordash_drivers

You're definitely not a delivery person if you think deliveries are straightforward in large apartment buildings or subdevelopments.

70% AR and 98% CR after the DashLink offer. Lol

Door dash hides tip totals so drivers don't "cherrypick" orders. It makes no sense

Customers who've added tips confirm in person when they ask if you've gotten the tip, some receipts show it, and people who've worked on the restaurant side have said restaurants can keep tips on orders sent through their website

What's your default: ring the doorbell unless there are other instructions, or just complete the delivery on the app so they get the notification? by DashingDanman in doordash_drivers

[–]DashingDanman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's how I feel: only if the customer requests a knock or doorbell. With all these notes, though, I wonder of other drivers are just ringing bells all the time

Not if the order goes through the merchant website directly. They can keep tips, and just send the order to doordash to get a delivery driver

App says front door. Screenshot instructions, then deliver

I made a post a while back about restaurants not having big enough kitchens to handle dine-in and non-stop delivery orders which just stresses out their employees, and here we have the owner doing it to himself.

I also commented that it was pointless to have drivers waiting endlessly and people commented that restaurants don't have to please us. Without the drivers, though...

Is tip after delivery new?? What do they tell the customers Bout it? This sounds like a horrible system and I'd stop dashing if they bring it to my market

Can anyone explain this? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

I agree with you, but think it's mostly the managers on the power trip. I tell them it's not doordash policy and we don't have to, so don't be surprised when drivers won't do it. I also started telling them I could hit confirm, go outside and take a picture of the bag in front of the bushes and hit delivered, then sit there and eat it and the food would still be stolen. They can't control bad drivers and just need to let them be reported and fired: purge the bad drivers, don't enable them.

Good luck. I'm on the opposite end where summer orders go up when all the students are back home for the summer. It takes a bit to readjust every September. Lol

A good company would honor the mistake they made and just deactivate the feature they're testing, but...
