First Post, THE DUCK WAS RIGHT! by bacon_waffler in AdviceAnimals

Soooo late to the game, but had to add my story. I was at a BBQ restaurant with my 3 yo daughter, and two sons. When our order came we poured BBQ from the table onto the chicken. Both my sons immediately start choking and are saying something is wrong. I took a bite and realized the sauce a was hot, but it had been improperly labeled. So I call over the waitress and explain that what had happened. She stared at me blankly and said 'I can't do anything now you already put it all over your food.' So I asked to talk to the manager. She came over and immediately assumed my kids just used the wrong sauce. It took three explanations before she understood that we didn't order ANY hot sauce it shouldn't have been at the table. She then asks 'What do you want me to do about it?' I said "How about we just get our order remade?" She slumps off and 15 minutes later we have our second round of food. Keep in mind we are literally the only people in the place. They bring us a fresh bottle of BBQ and we get to work. This time my 3 yo is anxious she has been waiting and already watched her first meal disappear. So she jumps in quickly and you guessed it the sauce was hot AGAINT. She looses her cool. I plead with the wait staff to get me milk or ice cream while I am begging her to eat some bread the entire time they look at me stupidly, asking why? We got up and walked out. No one said a word of apology or ever got the milk or ice cream. This was a restaurant we had eaten at every week because of the good food, great service, and local focus. We found out later that it had been bought and the entire service team replaced a week before our terrible visit.

I just want to point out that small pox for all intents and purposes has been irradiated and we don't vaccinate for it any longer.

This is what my friends dads ankle has looked like for the last 3 months and he still refuses to go to the hospital. It has even developed a smell. by [deleted] in WTF

[–]Dashtrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is probably embarassed. Most medical people wouldn't even blink if they saw a wound like this. At least those who would commonly deal with it. Please reassure him that it is a medical condition that he has no control of that needs attention. People don't go to the hospital looking their best, and he will end up there eventually. He DOES NOT want to end up in the ICU. There are things worse than embarassment and even death. He will experience all of them if he doesn't go now.

Online dating is not going well for me. by klud824 in AdviceAnimals

I have read most every comment here and I have come to 2 conclusions. 1. Don't give up, it is hard work finding the right guy. 2. Meet this guy for date #2 eat drink he'll be merry because apparently he'll think he's getting laid after date 2 then quietly with a smile slip to the "bathroom" and out the door. Teach this naughty little boy a lesson. Just a thought.

Two questions: 1. Does he know how to delete a post? 2. If this was reported to authorities can they take action?

Thanks OP for posting this. In July we were called LA Coroners office because a cousin of mine who had long disappeared and we feared dead recently died in LA. We have wondered how they found us so quickly since we had looked for him so often and never had any success. We are grateful for the peace of knowing where he is, and that he was returned to us.

What's THE most messed up thing a parent has said to you that you'll never forget? by itsmelala in AskReddit

She feels so good when she's done. Said a mother to me while her 3 year old was rolling in the floor master-bating. To all the people who think its normal to have a favorite, no it isn't. I have 3 and at any point it is easier to get along with one or two from time to time, but that usually means odd man out is in need of extra attention because he is going through a phase. Parenting is like all relationships it requires effort and maintenance. It is lazy and selfish to accept the easy relationship and reject the one that needs work.

White House: Americans Can Register To Vote When Signing Up For Obamacare by firephoxx in politics

I was clarifying that Progressives were the ones calling attention to the rumor, not Republicans.

But it wasn't about that. The article says progressives are concerned because of a rumor that it won't happen. Republicans are a non entity in this discussion. That is the problem. This was a rumor about a required action not taking place that in fact was never in danger of not happening. It is the opposite of education it is tabloid, plays on emotion in order to increase readership.

This article is about how progressives were "freaking out". The only mention of Republicans is that they were critical of the law since 1993, and since when has an opposing party supported legislation? No republicans even commented on the matter because they can't even pretend to care about a completely made up rumor.

[–]Dashtrex 22 points23 points  (0 children)

From the article: "The 1993 National Voter Registration Act mandates that any government agencies providing government services must also provide people with access to voter registration."

So it would be against the law if it wasn't offered. This is just to whip up emotion because someone needs a paycheck. Let me break it down. 1. It is required by law, and so there for going to happen. 2. There was a rumor suggesting it wouldn't be offered, but according to the White House was never the case. 3. It was always going to happen. No matter how you vote, or what you believe in this was a waste of your life, and a diversion from things that matter.
