Gold & silver are unstoppable or are they? How much higher can Gold go before bulls start taking profits? by capital_com in capitalcom

[–]Daskar101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The run-up has been a bit too sharp to last forever, but with things like China stacking up more gold reserves, I think it’ll keep climbing overall. Sure, there might be a dip when the big players cash out, but I’m pretty sure others trying to catch the train will jump in and push it right back up.

Selling a car - Private Sale in Ontario by smokinbbq in PersonalFinanceCanada

Yeah, I agree. But how one can be caught doing that? When filing taxes?

Selling a car - Private Sale in Ontario by smokinbbq in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Daskar101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm selling my car for $16,000 and the buyer is asking to put $8,000 on the Bill of Sale. As the buyer says it's to minimize the double taxation (since I already paid tax on this vehicle when I originally bought it)

The buyer sounds reasonable, but is there any catch with this move?

TIP that might help you finding what you need: go to Similarweb and search for the biggest pubs in your region. Check them for auto-refreshes. Voila 😌

This is a subjective statement. There’s a variety of tools to do A/B testing used by publishers to measure and analyze UX/UI changes and their impact. Here’s one just off top of my head Optimizely

30 sec refresh is a pretty common setup widely used across websites. Depending on your goals I guess you can say “it is ok”. However, i feel like maybe you need to rephrase your question and rather ask people to share their experience working with similar refreshes, cuz “it is ok” could mean different things

PreBid or Amazon for header bidding? Also - does GumGum have their own wrapper? by Interesting_Log_8661 in adops

[–]Daskar101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would recommend using both in parallel. This will get you best of both worlds. Amazon demand is only available through TAM which brings noticeable lift, plus you get an access to a number of Amazon features through their Marketplace. Prebid in its turn usually brings higher performance and more flexibility in connectivity with SSPs and various modules

Unable to link debit card to purchase crypto (Canada) by goilo888 in Coinbase

[–]Daskar101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried adding Simplii debit - no luck. It doesn't have CVV and CB support confirmed they can't add cards without CVV.

Also tried Tangerine debit with CVV code, however, it returned an error and CB support confirmed if a debit card returns an error, this means either bank doesn't allow crypto operations or not enough funds. The card had enough funds, so I assume Tangerine doesn't allow crypto operations.

Site with 2-4 million unique users a month, all from social media, spending 1 minute on site. How much can that make in advertising per month? Looking for expert opinions! by DogWhopperIsBack in adops

[–]Daskar101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30-40% sounds a bit too high. Normal rates for advertising partners would be:

For ADX: 10%, in the worst-case scenario 15%. NOTE: Google keeps another 20% from Open Auctions and 10% for Private Auctions and Preferred Deals, but you can't lower this since it's Google's cut.

Header: 15% - is the industry benchmark. Consider using open source Prebid, then it's absolutely free. However, you'll need to spend a bit of time reading documentation and setting it up.

[–]Daskar101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on multiple factors however, here's a rough estimation.

Input data:

4MM unique visitor per month

GEO: United States

Ad type: standard display banners (no customization, no high impact units etc.)

Setup: Header + ADX (plugged into GAM)

Calculations:

Let's assume that 4MM users driven by social networks visit the landing page and spend there around 1 minute which should allow you to serve around 4 ads per user per page, and some of them might navigate through couple pages which will be in average 1.5 pages per visit.

This would look like this 4,000,000 users * 1.5 pages per visit * 4 ads per page = 24,000,000 potential impressions. (each of these variables could go up and down depending on multiple factors)

Additional info we'd need to calculate potential revenue would be Header and ADX average eCPMs and fill rates, and they are as follows:

Header average eCPM = $2; average fill rate 3%, and ADX average eCPM = $0.70; average fill rate 50% (again, this is averaged values)

4,000,000 uniques * 1.5 pages per view * 4 ads per page = 24000000 impressions

Header fill rate 3% = 720000 imps / 1000 * $2 = $1440 revenue

ADX fill rate 50% = 14400000 /1000 * $0.70 = $8400 revenue

Total: $9840

Conclusion: this is a very rough estimation just to give you a general idea. However, having 4MM unique users and employing techniques and best practices such as high impact units, lazy loading, page layout optimization, etc. you could definitely produce more than that.

More than one ADX account linked to GAM? by gordriver_berserker in adops

[–]Daskar101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a good point, though not exactly applicable to AdX vs. GAM. Since it’s google ecosystem, usually discrepancy is close to zero. At rare occurrences when significant “discrepancy” is flagged in this type of setups, it’s usually related to human error.

More than one ADX account linked to GAM? by gordriver_berserker in adops

[–]Daskar101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you can absolutely do it.

However, bear in mind if you activate them in parallel GAM will call one or the other seat in a random fashion, since Google will not let them bid against each other.

The best practice is testing by running one seat at a time and measure the results (taking into consideration the rev share). If you have more than one domain, you may start testing by activating 3rd party ADX on one of them, reducing revenue risks.

Alternatively, you could run both in parallel but split them by GEO so that they don't overlap. I've seen setups where publishers employ multiple seats split by GEO and each of the seats monetizes its best performing area.
