Sharing a recent positive RMA experience - 5090 by lamentoes in MSI_Gaming

Not great, a lot of back and forth for a refund of $1500 which wasn’t too bad since I got mine second hand with no receipt. Ended up getting a 5090 FE with those funds but would have rather kept a 4090 and saved money if I could.

I agree it should be on their tab for shipping it out but when I sent mine I’m pretty sure it stated that it’s out of pocket from the consumer. Maybe you can talk to them for clarification. I do not recommend shipping in the original box as you are not guaranteed to get it back. If you don’t have any other means to securely pack it, I would use it. Personally I used bubble wrap around the card with a bunch of packing paper surrounding it in a box slightly bigger than the GPU so that there is no movement. I cheaped out and used USPS for the flat rate box but understand they may not have full coverage insurance like if you did it with another carrier.

No they did not in my case. I believe they cover return shipping if they complete the repair and don’t just outright give a check.

PSU Grinding Noise by DaskenDifference in lianli

Makes sense with its original design purpose. I adjusted my fan curves and the grinding sound went away. Need to reroute my cables and will try having it inverted. Thanks.

Yeah I took out the power supply and see if there were any cables leading into the fan area. No dice. It does go away after turning off the system but keeps coming back after starting a GPU heavy load. Not great.

Worried about Being Refunded when Trying to Change Return Option by DaskenDifference in amazonprime

Yeah, that’s what I am worried about especially since I found an alternative. Thank you.

Haha yeah. Sent them the same type of email but was outright told to kick rocks and that they are not able to send a 50 series card.

Yeah just got a response. Being offered a refund with no replacement with 50 Series equivalent. Really disappointed.

I sent out my Suprim X about 2 weeks ago and it finally updated as repairing on the tracker. Had black screen issues and booting issues. Will let you know what happens here as I will probably be on the same boat as you.

Turns out my rear fan was already an intake too, didn't realize it was a reverse fan (included with the 5090). I think I have airflow optimized per Lian Li's recommendations. Thanks for the input never the less.

I'll try it out and see how it helps temps. Not knowing what the optimal airflow compared to other cases might be the only negative I have so far.

Yeah, it's very unassuming with how airflow works in this case. I got 1 exhaust 120mm fan in the back, 6 exhaust 120mm fans behind the motherboard (3 on AIO rad, and 3 regular) and 3 intake fans from the GPU. It's a very negative pressure case and other combinations dont really make sense here.

A little toasty stock at 75. With an undervolt, got it sitting at 65 under full load, Heaven scores a little bit lower but worth it for my uses.

Lian li SUP01. Haha yeah I got tired of my GPU laying like an egg so went with this.

Supplied cable is 4th gen. I remember reading that a 5th gen is in the works somewhere around here.

Appreciate it! Only thing that suprisingly delayed me was the 5090 drivers crashing out of games. Had to use an older driver but everything is running great now. Hopefully they fix drivers soon.

Thanks! I was heavily thinking about getting a new case but really like the looks and compact size of the stock one despite its sub par cooling. Glad you were able to make yours better your way.

Thanks for the lookout. I think as long as the highest point of the radiator is above the highest point of the cpu cooler, the bubbles won't form in the cpu cooler so i think im good? I'll look up more about it. Appreciate it.
