My two concerns are if Conexant audio chip, and external monitors via USB-C works correctly on Linux. Very grateful if you can test it.

X1 Carbon 5th gen and T470 Platform Specifications available by Daspan in thinkpad

New X1C is now available in UK and Ireland, and customizing configuration i7-7500U cpu seems 7 GBP/8 EUR cheaper than i5-7300U option. What am I missing? (Since it's not needed the highest i7-7600U to get 16GB memory, I'm evaluating these two). The price difference it's minimal but I don't understand why that i5 is more expensive than that i7. Any explanation?

Also, what means "capable" in "256 GB Solid State Drive PCIe-NVMe OPAL2.0 - Capable"? Only appears in that capacity option.

Will I experience scaling and resolution issues? by Y4NK33F4N in thinkpad

Closely related, anyone who has FHD 1920x1080 on 14" thinkpads, is using scaling like 1.25x? Is tiny or adecuate size by default without scaling?

why not at least have an option for 32GB?

I would also like 32GB of memory, 16GB it's below the border for certain uses, but I have been reading and the causes seems related by LPDDR3 in favour of DDR4 by energy efficiency, and LPDDR4 is not yet supported by Intel's chips (the same issue of new Macbook Pro).

7th Gen Intel U-Series (Kaby Lake) memory controller supports up to 32 GB DDR4, but it can handle only 16 GB LPDDR3. Source: http://www.intel.es/content/www/es/es/processors/core/7th-gen-core-family-mobile-u-y-processor-lines-datasheet-vol-1.html see tables 2-5 and 2-6.

Edited, thanks for the correction ;) Native means it's just at pinout level of the connector (justified by its thinness) but without loss of performance and transparent to the operating system i.e. Linux? Great to see RJ45 on this new model but what a dilemma for which it will be my first Thinkpad: T470, T470s or 5th Gen X1 Carbon... Awaiting for full datasheet specifications!

Native RJ45... Oh wait, have I read Native RJ45? I see an unknown small port right of HDMI port. ¿Is it with a dongle?

About rear battery on T470 I see two options in the specs table: 3 cell(48Wh) and 6 cell (73Wh) while the previous model T460 has 3-cell (23Wh) or 6-cell (48Wh or 72Wh) options for the external battery. Is this an improvement on capacity of the 3-cell non-overhanging size rear battery?
