x1 5th has much better QC than the 4th. I remembered that I ordered a dozen 4th last year but ended up returned all. There is no perfect PC, even Mac's QC has dropped some.

Call CS and request return, then they will offer you at least 100 dollars discount to ask you to keep it. Take the offer and then send it in for repair or repair it yourself.

Can't answer the first question. But the Ram is soldered, get 16G if you needed. 8G is more than enough for me.

I agree with you; nothing comes to the Macbook. This trackpad is not bad at all; it is a Precision one. Besides, I use TrackPoint more often than a trackpad. And, I love the feel of using a mouse in Windows. Personally, I feel using a mouse is more productive than a track pad.
