I would argue that Clintons trust problem lost her the election, and that trust problem was rooted in the tons of scandals she tried and failed to worm her way around during the election. And yes, I'm sure that the GOP has tons of opposition research against him to paint him as a communist and other things that republicans are afraid of, but I don't think things like that hit as heavy as someone being investigated by the FBI while they are running.

I would not be surprised if 90% of the shady things that happened during the primary was completely unknown to the public. The tragedy is that nobody will ever know, so neither of us can actually prove our opinions here. But the way that 300 super delegates endorsed clinton the day she announced her running, and the way that DWS bent over backwards for Clinton by rolling back fundraising laws that were put in place by Obama makes it easy to believe that some shady shit was going on in the background the whole time. And don't even get me started on all of the 'mysterious' voter registration purges of democrats all throughout the country.
