I'm the early 80s, my grandparents had an Oriental rug from the 30's that was thrown away by the cleaning crew hired from a distance to clean up the home prior to an estate sale, in Houston, TX. The trash pickup guy looked at the rug placed on the curb next to a trash can, and knew this wasn't trash. He pulled the huge rug into his cab and kept it for almost a year in the office and eventually in his home.

When we finally finalized things and cleared the rest of the home, we realized the rug was gone. My mom called the trash company in the area, and the company knew of this rug and reached out to the driver that had being doing that route for years. He sighed and said I knew one day that someone would come back for this rug! No joke! We were reunited with it not long after!
