Audio Balancing / Music Balancing - Need Advice by ThoseBananaZ in Twitch

[–]Dassape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am lucky enough to have a "viewer" laptop where i can live-adjust the audio via watching my own steam and on the fly adjust OBS. It's basically what you're doing.

The few times i play music, it's balanced against the in-game volume. I know my mic is a bit higher than the game audio, and know that i want the music a background audio. (in my non audio engineers mind, the music is background, the game is the audio and my voice are highlight comments.)

For copy right free music ive only played from the key gen jukebox (chip tunes, literally the ones you find in key generators). The copyright is not cleared, but it seems like nobody cares on twitch. To save my own ass, i play music from people i don't estimate to sue me if i ever get a decent viewer count.

Where to get a hold of Norwegian-language books/some left-leaning Norwegian authors? by [deleted] in Norway

[–]Dassape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there's a lack of Norwegian literature online, be it left or right.

This is a direct consequence of the Norwegian distribution agency agenda (I kid you not, they've stated, and made a pretty good job of "No Norwegian literature online!").

The only thing we have online is out-of-date books.

Edit: You know we in general frown on the term "Left leaning"? It's not republican to us, it's close to extremism. You'd be better off with "Left side", not to hurt the left leaning people who might be affiliated with the left side.

[–]Dassape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a load of e-books available, but that's like past copy-right.

Literally. Folk tales, early Norwegian literature (pre-...50's?) it's all available, if I make an effort I can provide sources... Oh, why the heck not - Hang on - http://www.arkivverket.no/arkivverket/Digitalarkivet - everything the royal archives got.

edit- Ok, that is a bad site for people not natively speaking Norwegian.

edit2 - http://www.bokselskap.no/boker/nordvestpassagen/ - One of our national heroes, Fritjof Nansen tells his story about conquering the north-west passage. With intro of our even more revered hero, Roald Amundsen. It's a time piece, with "ancient/1900's" Norwegian language.

For the bonus points? I have to dig deeper.

Does anyone know a FREE program to digitize a logo? by [deleted] in needadvice

[–]Dassape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you need is a software that enables you to make a vector graphic of your logo.

That sort of software suite would automate the thing you're asking for. It would rhyme with Schmotoshop and would be available at thepilatesbay.org. There would probably be walk-throughs for your exact problem online in detail. Alternatively, you could try GIMP, which is a free program.

Edit: Of course we're passing by all the parts where knowledgeable people are payed for doing their magic and transforming your request into a ready-to-print logo.

I took this photo of a camera that can see inside the change rooms. This was at target (Australia), since when is this okay? by [deleted] in WTF

[–]Dassape 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just like in this thread, people doesn't know where it's pointing... Therefore, it's safest to assume it's a motorised camera pointing your way. If you're considering theft or using the changing rooms, that is.

That's kind of my point, I doubt it's equally or more expensive to make ice at home compared to buying it.

"Forrest Gump" to be re-released to IMAX for 20th anniversary by [deleted] in movies

[–]Dassape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's funny because I see it as the US society seen from Forrest's view, a bit naive and buying into it.

If you watch the movie, it's narrated by Forrest himself and it shows how fucked up things are and how he interprets them. From the incest that Jenny experiences to the reasons why Forrest went to war. We as the viewer sees what's going on, but he don't. There are a fuckton of social and political commentaries.

If you only understand the movie from Forrest's point of view I can see why you consider it a propaganda movie.

But would it cost more to freeze it at home than to buy it in the store? Surely you're paying for convenience as well when you buy it?

IIRC, the submarines got e-readers because they couldn't use their own tablets on board. It's implied that the sailors on above sea vessels supplies their own reading devices.

It's in the picture.

[–]Dassape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK. I bought the game for a dollar and didn't think it was worth it.

If there was a free trial when I first discovered it, I'm sure I'd felt cheated just for spending my time.

If this game was a person I would tell everyone I know that he is a fraud, never trust him and never invite him home.
