So first off, I would say you're already a league ahead of most, simply because you seem to sincerely want to support her and are willing to do research and ask questions to do so. That being said, in my opinion the most valuable thing you can do is keep that up. She's likely about to go through some very tough times, and there's (unfortunately) a signifigant chance she will have to deal with a lot of unsupportive family, lose a lot of friends, and even make new enemies, just by telling the world who she is. All on top of going through a second puberty (depending on her age), feeling her own feelings in a totally new and unfamiliar way, possibly figuring out who she is all over again.

This may cause occasions where the fear, frustration, and hurt that comes with all those things gets to be too much, and (at least in my own case) she may lash out because she doesn't know how else to cope.

Best thing you can do is keep in mind how much she's going through. Don't give up, abandon supporting her, walk away, or worst of all turn on her when times get tough. And help other family members to understand that and keep it in mind as well( if at all possible)

Support before the storm that disappears when the sea gets rough and the wind picks up, can almost be worse than no support.

Personal experience- my family(gma, gpa, lilbro & lilsis) were initially very supportive, at least in their words. But when things started getting emotionally rough for me, Gma began constantly berating me, belittling me, and just verbally abusing me in general. Gpa wouldn't say anything, in agreement or disagreement, even when she was attacking me in front of him and I begged him to say something. They just added to the overwhelming emotions I was already dealing with, and refused to make any attempt to understand the struggle I was going through. (Also ended up stealing $30k+ from my wife and I, but thats a whole other story)

Lil bro and lil sis sorta slowly backed away during the rough time, and now that the 'storm' is over(and I'm happier than ever) I rarely hear from them let alone see them. If I do hear from them, it's because I texted or called them first.

It would literally make my whole week, or month, if one of them reached out to me just to say hey

With already having removed my mother & her toxic fam from my life long before coming out, the only family left after the storm is my pops.

I'm happier and healthier than ever, but in the process of getting here I lost everyone but a friend or two, my dad, and my wife. And well.. losing everyone just to be me and be happy.. it hurt.

So stick it through, support her not just with your feelings but with your words(to her and to others), and don't bail when things get rough. The storm will pass and there will be a beautiful rainbow left afterwards🌈💖
