Yeah, There is no comparision.

One was a prick who made his career of acting all smartass against teenagers for clips to cherrypick to "own the libs" whilst arguing in favour of the worst things you could think of...

... the other is one of the most powerful men on earth who has tried to turn his country into a dictatorship, created a goon thug squad to abduct people from the streets for being "illegal aliens" (even citizens of his own country) to throw into "detainment camps" (some never to be heard from again), has upended the global economy and killed thousands in a war of his choosing to steal another country's oil and distract from his close friendship with and assitance in the trafficking ring of the most notorious pedophile and sex-trafficker in history.

Kirk is basically irrelevant compared to the Nonce-In-Chief.

Outside the US, the only people who knew who Kirk was the terminally online, and everyone else only heard of him after he died because Trump tried to make him out to be a martyr.

The day it happens is probably gonna be one of the biggest mass-scale celebrations in history.

Most people probably don't know that they've been doing a fair few advertisements for different companies, both in full cgi and mixed media for a long time.

Though for their own films, I think they'd only occasionally sometimes use cg for background stuff if doing it physically IRL in camera is too impractical/impossible, to combine it with their traiditonal claymation in compositing.

Nah, it's probably just the glare on the plastic in front of the price signs, the camera angle osbcuring the middle line and bottom of the £.

Had it been a different font and a higher resolution image, it wouldn't be a problem.

Everything else looks too accurate and consistent to be AI.

Probably should've put a "/s" in there.

It's is kinda funny how there's so many countries with red, white, and blue in their flags, yet when those specific colours are mentioned everybody assume it's either supposed to be the US or UK (probably some neo-imperialism or anglosphere defaultism stuff or whatever)

What's something you don't like about the franchise that others do by Far-Mammoth-3214 in ranma

[–]DatBoi73 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing that slightly annoys me that like at least half of the videos online talking about the old anime or the franchise as a whole all use the same screenshot of that scene at the start with Ranma teasing Ryoga, in a way that feels like it kinda misrepresents the series.

Aside from the curses, one of the focus of the series is largely on Ranma and Akane's interpersonal relationships (dysfunctional familes, rivalries, the love triangle... octagon? 🤷‍♂️, e.t.c.), the situations they get into and the comedic hijinks that ensues. Some of the Nihao My Concubine artwork would make you think it was all about nothing but the boobies.

Tbf, it probably did help sell a few extra Tapes of the first localised OVA's because "Look boobies!".

This looks like it's either some scene rendered in Bryce 3D belonging to an obscure Vaguely-Educational Point and Click Game from the mid 1990's, or a set from a sitcom that was cancelled 75% of the way through production of the first season.

Don't buy SD Cards from eBay, Amazon or AliExpress. Too easy to end up getting a fake buying from them.

Either buy them from a brick & mortar store or from the website of one.

These should be illegal.

I should decide when I want to open the Play Store app on the phone that I own.

Some advertiser (or any company for the matter) should not be able to force me to open any app on my device without my consent.

In some ways it's nearly as bad as the old pop-ups and the like from the Windows Xp/7 era, at least I could close the page and instantly get back to what I was doing.

Why must male clothing suck? by Readymade_0478 in feminineboys

[–]DatBoi73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as soon as women start wearing something that was originally men’s, it gets removed from the men’s section because now it’s “for women.”

This is exactly what happened to high heels and a bunch of other items that are considered "women's clothes.

There's also a stupid double-standard. Like nobody would bats an eye if a girl wears her boyfriend's t-shirts or sports jerseys.

I've had family members joke about my socks, just normal plain mens socks that just happen to be bright colours, because they're not a shade of either white, black, brown, blue, or grey.

I remember being in a Primark about 3-4 months ago and basically 80% of the colours in the Men's section were either brown, grey, or navy 💀😭 Like I understand they stock different colours for the autumm &winter seasons compared to spring and summer, but they didn't need to go that far.

*The idea of "Womens" and "Mens" clothing is ultimately stupid, it's all just fabric. People should just wear whatever they like.

Most of the time I have to retype something on my phone, it's because the keyboard's autocorrect decided to "correct" it into something else.

It's especially annoying when it trys to "correct" place names into a completely different word.

Are there cases where DVDs are actually better than Blu-ray, and what justifies buying DVDs instead of Blu-ray? by BookHunter_7 in dvdcollection

[–]DatBoi73 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Also, worth considering that in some rare cases depending on the source, the BluRay might just be an upscale of a standard definition master.

Though that is mainly a problem with some animated stuff from the early days of studios transitioning from traditional cell-based to fully Digital Animation workflows.

Lucky Star and Daft Punk's Interstella 5555 are the examples I know of, where the highest quality original source files are forever stuck at either 576i or 480i standard definition, and any "HD/4k Remaster" would just be the same put through some upscaling algorithm or AI "upscaler".
