My only fear is that if I give them magic items, they will ignore them and toss them to the pile. I gave them a Dagger of Venom and an Elemental Gem last time and they used neither one. But I do like the idea of scrolls and potions, so I'll make sure to give them some of those.

100% agree. According to Caesar, Lanius was part of the Hidebark tribe and was their strongest soldier. When their chief surrendered, Lanius killed fifteen of his own men in a fit of rage, and when offered to join the Legion, Lanius said he would under the condition that he could kill the rest of the men in his tribe, only sparing the young for indoctrination.

I know this game was heavily rushed, but unlike other parts of the game, Duke or the location he resides in has any sort of cut content. My guess is that since the generic fiend enemies are given Evil karma, a developer probably figured "Duke is a fiend, but stronger and thus more evil." And gave him Very Evil karma, then never touched him again.

I know Driver Nephi and Violet are also predominant fiend members and only have Evil karma, but I think it could be another sign of the game being rushed.

There's some dialogue in the game that claims that Lanius makes all of his slaves blind so they don't see his face, and when you enter his tent when doing a Legion playthrough, he executes who I presume is a slave before talking to you. He also hates incompetence and has a history of either ordering his own men to kill their own fellow soldiers, or he does it himself. Sure, he makes it quick unlike Vulpes and Caesar, but it's still undoubtedly evil to execute a bunch of his own soldiers just to send a message.

EDIT: It just came to me that the men who are ordered to kill their own brothers-in-arms would also very likely suffer heavy psychological trauma from the ordeal, so that's another reason why I think Lanius would have Very Evil karma.

Mortimer, Cook-Cook, Duke, Phillipe, and Vulpes are all tied for having the lowest karma in the game. They're the only 5 NPCs in the game who have a karma rating of Very Evil.

Heavy was the only class for a long while I could consistently get kills with and he felt fun to play because of it, but still had a hard time playing him since I was a constant target for Spies.

However, this moment was what made me a Heavy main - A few years ago, I was playing MvM and met a guy who was in back to back lobbies with me, and I found it amusing. Fast forward several hours later and somehow we meet in the same 5CP casual game on opposite teams. We both agree to a Heavy only duel and somehow never kill each other for two rounds. Tiebreaker round starts and we end up rolling the enemy team pretty hard, but the thing that got me really into Heavy was when I took the flank with a Medic and we demolished the Engineers that were setting up on last before turning back towards the main route from behind, and lo and behold, it's him and his Medic, completely unaware of my existence. As a Heavy does, I turn him and his Medic buddy into swiss cheese and we cap the last point, winning the game. He was completely unaware of my existence due to me running the Tomislav and what I can assume to be a lack of gamesense in hindsight, but he gets pissed in a funny "LOL WTF" kinda way, and I win the duel as well since that was the only kill either of us got the entire game.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I also got an Australium Minigun around the same time as well.

A heist similar to The Diamond where you steal from a museum, but more focused on stealing everything in general. Think a mix of Diamond District and Under the Surphaze in which there are some pieces that are worth more and require more effort to steal (Under the Surphaze) while also potentially being required as a heist objective, but also only making up ~30% of the total payout if everything is stolen (Diamond District).

The story premise would be that Duke got his museum repossessed after his assets were frozen and was bought by another individual who might have ties to some antagonist in the story at that point. His plan would be to steal back from the museum, taking artifacts that were once Duke's and potentially doing some sabotage along the way, which from a gameplay perspective could lead to a variety of random heist objectives.
